IPA Racing

Its been a while between posts, but the 6 Hours of the Glen was run on the weekend and IPA Racing were there in an LMP2. A reasonable quali lap had us p5 on the grid which we held early before a small incident dropped us a few spots. A strong mid section of the race saw us up into the podium position, but unfortunately we were not quite able to get that over the line. P4 in split 3 though, not a bad days outing at all! Cannot wait till next year already...

WHAT A ROUND!!

While we didn't get the position we wanted at Monza for the GSRC GT3 Pro-Am round, we did get to have some of the best racing so far! Ended up finishing 14th in the feature race and 20th in the heat race after a terrible qualifying performance of 30th. We clawed our way back through the field and had some fantastic battles along the way!

Back at it again tonight for the GSRC GT3 Pro-Am race at Bathurst this evening. After qualifying 15th from a strong 44 driver pack, we we had our work cut out for us. With a couple of strokes of luck and a strong pit strategy we ended up finishing 7th.
A great race was had and we look forward to moving onto the next round!

We were at Suzuka tonight for the GSRC GT3 PRO-AM. Started 16th, finished 13th. Nothing really to write home about to be honest. Managed to avoid a few incidents and performed 2 under cuts to gain some positions.
Managed to come home in one piece and in the top 3rd of the field so can't complain! On to Barcelona next Monday night!

P9 and P4 in tonight's GSRC GT3 PRO-AM Heat and Feature races.
Tough drive tonight, stayed nice and clean throughout the race and managed to keep out of trouble.
Heat race went as planned. Started19th, we managed to avoid collisions and escape with a P9. In the feature race, it all came down to the pit strategy, We managed to crawl up to P5 and stayed there for most of the race. Managed to pit and gain a position on track by managing fuel well. Had a great battle with a Middle Split Racing Ferrari in front and a Side Hustle Racing Porsche behind towards the end of the race.
Not bad considering I only drove on the track for the first time only 1 hour before the Heat race started!!

Another tough night on track tonight for the IPA Racing Team in the GSRC GT3 PRO-AM. Went in confident. First heat we placed 10th out of a 47 strong field. In the feature race however, we managed to collide with another racer causing us to spin and fall to the very rear of the field. While we managed to climb 21 positions back through the field, we were still in the bottom half of the grid.
Onwards and upwards to next week.

On a much more positive note, how great does the new ACW livery look!!!!????

Round 3 in the GSRC Pro-Am GT3 championship at the Island and well.... what an up and down race.
Started P25, worked our way up to P12 before hitting the dirt at the Southern Loop which sent the car on a little adventure. Ended up in P37 and clawed our way back to finish P19.
Once P4 lapped me, I was able to keep up for the rest of the race with him, definitely know the speed is there!
Onwards and upwards to round 4!

So the last round of the IMSA Championship took us to Laguna Seca. Somehow, I had been overtaken by someone earlier in the week. I needed a good result, but a couple of familiar (and quick) names made that quick difficult. I pushed all the way but could only manage 3rd.... A podium was a good result round here mind you, just feel I needed a few more points. Just waiting on the tables to sort themselves out. Not sure if I will have another run or not - will see how things pan out.

Still, its been a great season even if it ends up p2 or p3. Nice to see the IPA Motorsport car in the podium positions!

IMSA series, 2nd last week and someone had managed to sneak a few points ahead. Needed a good result, and bagged a p2 with a solid run. Avoided all the walls and issues, managed the gap to 3rd place and brought it home. The RSR is an absolute gem around that track though!

Last week coming up - Laguna Seca. Lets see which way the division title goes....plus just very keen to get out on that track. Its been a while!

No racing this week as yet - unfortunately been very busy with other things (and f1 back again) but have found time for upgrades! Installed the throttle upgrade kit on the pedals, will have to put them through their paces to see how it feels. Shiney new stainless steel though - and just a chance to admire the pedals generally 😊Will also reinstall the clutch while I sort the original broken spring issue - I didn't realise how important it was for me as a foot rest! 😂
