Crippled Crows Masters Rugby South Australia

02/11/2026

Thank you to all volunteers within all of the rugby clubs but a shout out to the Crippled Crows group of Fraser Vivian, Morag Hamill, and Jamie Punshon. Thank you for your continued service to rugby and the Crippled Crows.

🏉 BEHIND EVERY RUGBY CLUB IS A DEDICATED VOLUNTEER. ❤️

Community rugby simply wouldn't be what it is without the people who give their time and energy to make it happen.

From the early mornings and late nights, to the countless hours behind the scenes, these are the people who keep our clubs running, support our players and bring our rugby communities together.

As we celebrate the 2026 season, we're recognising some of the longest-serving volunteers across South Australian rugby.

Crippled Crows Touch Football game and Christmas Lunch.

Following last year’s successful event, the Crippled Crows are again hosting a very social game of touch football that is open to all who wish to attend, at 10.00 am Sunday 6th December at the Greenhill Road Touch Football fields. Come throw a ball around, get a bit of sun and exercise. Reconnect with old acquaintances and make new friendships at the same time. This is an open event to anyone that is interested and don’t be shy in dragging your friends and teenagers along to come have a run around the paddock with the oldies.

Upon completion of the Touch Football, we will retire to the Earl of Leicester Hotel to celebrate the year of stunning rugby and bid our friends a festive season for 2026.

Lunch and drinks will be pay your own way. There is no restriction on people attending the Christmas Lunch if you are unable to make it to the touch football at 10.00am.

As we need to book seats for the lunch venue (Earl of Leicester Hotel), we need firm responses of attendance for the lunch. Please confirm your attendance to the Lunch at the Earl of Leicester Hotel to club President, Lindsay “Slim” Callaghan (via the usual channels) or by confirming below in the comments, with your name and number of people attending no later than Monday 30th November.

Long term Crippled Crow member, Kevin Rowley, has asked the Crippled Crows to help get the message out, that this month he is walking 150km, in the One Foot Forward campaign, to support Australians impacted by mental illness and su***de.

Kevin hopes to raise $1000 to help the Black Dog Institute put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education and digital services into the hands of the people who need them the most.

We have it on good authority that Kevin is already well and truly on track to both blitz his distance and total monies raised goal. Maybe we can encourage Kevin to modify his goals and aim for a larger target.

If this is a cause that you support, The Crippled Crows encourage you to make a donation and support Kevin's 150km challenge this month to help change lives:

The Crippled Crows are saying thank you to our business supporters and we wish to say thank you to one of our Gold Sponsors, Partnered Health Medical Centres - Para Hills Clinic.

Regular Crippled Crows player, Dr Eben Viljoen (General Practitioner) clearly has rugby in his DNA, having immigrated from South Africa to Australia in 2010 and can’t stop playing (as much as his schedule allows) the game they play in heaven.

The Crippled Crows wish to welcome the Partnered Health Medical Centres - Para Hills Clinic, to the over 35’s rugby community and thank them for their generous support.

Crippled Crows sponsors and friends came together in spectacular style at Burnside Rugby Club’s 80th Anniversary Black-Tie Gala 🖤🏉✨

It was an unforgettable evening celebrating Burnside’s rich rugby history, proud success and strong community spirit, all on full display throughout the night 🤝🎉 The occasion was made even more special by the presence of Wallaby legends Dan Herbert and Scott Higginbotham 🇦🇺🏉🦘

Burnside is an iconic RUSA club, and we’re thrilled they’re keen to support the Crows going forward and we offer an open invitation too their over 35 players to come and join in our next season’s games.

We’re equally excited about the possibility of playing on their new grounds in 2027 🏉🏟️🤞

Here’s hoping for many more great rugby moments together! 🤞🤞🤞🏉🏉🏉🏉

The Crippled Crows are saying thank you to our business supporters and we wish to say thank you Pyper Leaker surveying services.

David is a passionate rugby man, having played for many years with Old Collegians Rugby Club in Adelaide. David is now retired from daily work life but his love for the game has not waned and regularly plays for the Crippled Crows and continues to support the club, not only as a player but committee member and regular tourist. David will again be travelling with the Crippled Crows to Vancouver in 2027, to attend the 2027 World Golden Oldies Festival (May 23-30)

The Crippled Crows are saying thank you to our business supporters and we wish to say thank you to a very important supporter in the form of Dr Fraser Vivian (Doc) and the Tanunda Medical Centre.

Doc is the immediate past President of the Crippled Crows, a position he held from 2019 until 2026, and he is still an active playing member of the Crippled Crows. Doc also keeps himself very busy with being the current President of his beloved Barossa Rams Rugby Club, located in Tanunda in the Barossa Valley.

The Tanunda Medical Centre, through their association with Fraser, have been supporting the Crippled Crows for many years now. As well as actively playing in our regular season games, Doc has toured extensively with the Crippled Crows, and will again be travelling to Vancouver in 2027, to attend the 2027 World Golden Oldies Festival with the Crippled Crows.

Dr Fraser Vivian, Partner, Tanunda Medical Centre

Thank you Tanunda Medical Centre
