Arthur Pandeli when he runs out this Sunday will do so for the 250th time as a Raptor. He will feature for the C2's at 9am against SBS in their last kick out for the season. This feat has only ever been achieved by 7 other players in the clubs history.
Arthur began his Raptors journey in 2003, coming from Cooper Pedy, he started as a regular reserves player and was top goalscorer for the reserves in his first year (13 goals).
He built his way into the A’s, winning promotion to Div 3 in 2004 and even topping the goalscoring charts alongside good friend Tony Petrou in 2006, helping the club achieve promotion into Div 2 for the first time in its history.
His achievements didn’t only lie on the pitch, Arthur was Raptors president between 2005 and 2011 and still serves as part of the present day committee, so much so that Thursday night dinners since we arrived at west terrace are served from the Pandeli kitchen with good friend Jim Viglis close by.
In 2010, he and his son Jonathon became the first ever Raptor father-son duo to play together and in 2019, Jonathon captained the C's while Arthur won the Golden Boot.
He was awarded the club champion jacket for the C grade in 2022 at 56 years old, clearly a favourite of coach Gararth McGarry after a 12 goal season.
Now although he is not a spring chicken, Pandeli is still featuring on the goalscorers charts with the clubs C2s earlier this year. Arthur holds a couple of records but none more impressive than the record for most consecutive years with at least one goal (17) between 2003 and 2019.
We also must admire the time and effort Arthur has put into Raptors across all these years. All these years of service to the club cannot go unnoticed.
Make sure to come out Sunday morning to see Arthur don the Raptors shirt for the 250th time in his career. Congratulations on such a huge achievement, 300 here we come 💙💛🤍
