FC Platinum, then called Mimosa Football Club, is a Zimbabwean team based in Zvishavane. The team was formed in 1995 as a social club and finally got promoted to Division 2.The team had a two year stint before being promoted to Division 1 in 1999 but faced a subsequent relegation during the same year. FC Platinum had to languish in the soccer wilderness for another four years before regaining th

eir Division 1 status in 2004 in which they played for six years under the guidance of coaches Luke Petros and John Phiri. Jairos Tapera led the team to their ascension to the apex of local football in 2011.They then changed their name to FC Platinum. In their maiden year they finished level on points with champions Dynamos and qualified to play in the Champions league against Green Mamba of Swaziland in the first round winning 7-1 on aggregate. The team lost to El- Merreikh of Sudan in the second round. FC Platinum, also known as the platinum miners dream is to bring the championship to the Midlands Province.
