Who was king of the Cape Peninsula? 🐟🌊

The Maties Cape Peninsula Shore Open was blessed with great conditions last weekend - no wind, great visibility and lekker spearfishing opportunities 🤩
35 spearos took to the waters, and the top 10 divers (based on the combined weight of 5 fish) were as follows:

IMPORTANT NOTICE! 🌊 We’ve got a full lineup of courses coming up in April and May - whether you’re brand new to diving or looking to level up your certification, there’s something for everyone! 🤿

Open Water Diver: Your entry into the underwater world! Learn the fundamentals and get certified to dive up to 18m
Advanced Open Water: Expand your skills and explore deeper diving (up to 30m) (Open Water required)
Refresher Course: Get comfortable and confident in the water again if it's been a while since your last dive
Freediving Course: Discover the art of diving without the hassle of SCUBA gear - just you and the ocean
Nitrox Course: Learn to dive with enriched air and extend your bottom time (Open Water required)
All courses are PADI licensed, meaning that your certification never expires and you are able to dive anywhere in the world 🐙

Everything is a-ok! 👌🤿 Over this past weekend, 7 students (coincidentally, most were engineers 🤣) successfully completed their Open Water course - and what a weekend it was! With interesting conditions 🥴 but great visibility, the group made the most of every dive and absolutely nailed their skills.

A big thank you to for instructing the group from start to finish 💪 he even made friends with an octopus! 🐙

Coming in hot! 🔥 The Maties Underwater Club Hottie Shoot on the 21st of February was a massive success 🐟
Zero wind and mirror flat seas saw 54 eager spearos sign-in on Saturday morning. After tackling the patchy visibility and 13°C water, 28 divers landed fish for the weigh-in. Congratulations to:
1) Colin Lee (winning weight of 2.61kg)
2) Albertus Roux
3) Cameron Wilson
on taking home the top 3 prizes! Well done to everyone who competed, what an insane start to the year it was!
