Another awesome club shoot in the books! 🎯

A fast-paced and fun match with plenty of hosing stages, challenging shooting, and as always a great day spent on the range with good mates.

I feel like I’m currently in a really good place with my shooting. I’m shooting better than I ever have, and it’s great to see the progress from all the work starting to pay off.

There is still work to do, especially when it comes to maintaining my mental focus throughout the match. But overall I’m really happy with where my shooting is at the moment.

Enjoying the progress, enjoying the journey, and looking forward to seeing how far I can take it. 💪🎯

》NGPSA League 8

What an incredible and fun match this past weekend! 🔥

The 8th NGPSA League of the year had a bit of everything from close, hosing style targets to challenging long-range steel that demanded precision and patience.

I’m extremely happy to have finished 3rd in the Production Division with a score of 97.24%. To finish within 3% of two of the best Production shooters in the country is an incredible feeling and a huge milestone for me.

I’m incredibly fortunate to be able to compete alongside these guys, learn from them, and rub shoulders with some of the best shooters in the country.

That said, there’s still plenty of room for improvement. There were mistakes that could have been avoided, and a few areas that I need to put more focus into.

Proud of the result, grateful for the opportunity, and motivated to keep pushing forward. The work continues! 💪🎯

A solid day at the club match.

Nothing spectacular, but a consistent performance with very few mistakes. A couple of pickup shots on the steel, but no major errors, penalties, or Deltas. Sometimes it's not about chasing perfection, it's about putting together a clean, consistent match and banking valuable points.

Plenty to build on. On to the next one!

This past weekend's league was a reminder that IPSC is as much a mental game as it is a shooting sport.

From the very first stage, I wasn't mentally present, and it showed throughout the match. I made far too many simple, avoidable mistakes, poor target transitions, missed stage details, penalties I didn't call, inefficient movement, rushed shots, and even a malfunction that I didn't diagnose quickly enough. None of them were due to a lack of ability, but rather a lack of focus and discipline in the moment.

The biggest lesson from this match is that every shot deserves my full attention. Thinking ahead instead of staying present with the target I'm engaging led to unnecessary errors that ultimately cost me valuable points and time.

Despite the sub-par performance, I still managed to finish 3rd in Production, which I'm grateful for. It wasn't the result I was chasing, but it's a reminder that there is still a solid foundation to build on.

Now it's back to the drawing board. Time to refine the fundamentals, sharpen the mental game, and come back stronger. Every match, good or bad is another opportunity to learn and improve.

A fun day on the range at the 6th Northern Gauteng League of the year.

Unfortunately, a failure-to-extract malfunction costed me some valuable seconds, but I'm grateful to have fought through it and still secured 2nd place overall in Production Division.

Every match is a learning opportunity, and this one was no exception. On to the next one!
