The Cape Town Marathon this year saw Crusaders members Donovan, Alex, Sam, Gavin, Angela, Plaxcedes take on the 42.2km marathon in near perfect weather conditions yesterday, while Megan and Sjani tackled the 10km Peace Run on Saturday. Congrats to all our Crusaders runners, wishing you safe travels on the road home, we look forward to seeing your medals at the next social 🥇🥈🥉Thanks for the pics Steven & Megan 📷

Big turnout of Crusders in Saturday’s Heartbreak Hill, thank you Charlo Athletic Club for a great (but those HILLS!) route, we had a blast. Crusaders rocked the roads this weekend with a strong turnout at the 2026 Volkswagen Health Run races on Saturday, 9 May 2026 at the VWSA People Pavilion. Well done Gavin for first place in your age category and a personal best time of 1.33.26 for the 21.1km half-marathon 🥳🥳 and to Joan, who was first in her age group in the 10km race. There were a number of PB runners, including husband & wife team of Willie & Megan, and fleet-footed Fran who blitzed across the line in a cracking time of 1.14.17. Maggie and Angela just missed a sub-2 hour race by seconds, and well done to Winslow, who clocked a half-marathon and celebrated his birthday on the same day!

Kat Flanagan and Paddy Hodgson, congratulations from Crusaders on running the London Marathon today. Your club mates back home were rooting for you, watching to see if anyone could spot your lumo green outfits with the South African flag on the back through the streets of London. Well done on your race today 🏆 thank you Paddy for being the "guide" that a partially sighted athlete such as Kat needs - example of what grit and training along with friendship and support can do 🙌🏼

What an epic weekend for Crusaders runners! Many members took part in the Ironman CTC and 5150 - congratulations to Aletta and Johan for their podium places in their age groups in the 5150 🏅🏅 and then on Sunday, congratulations to Kat (& her guide Zako), Johnny and Sandra for tackling the full Ironman distance. It was a long, gruelling day - and that was just for the supporters from the club who came out to shout and yell and encourage you guys 🤣 Well done to all!

What an epic Ironman weekend for this city - and for Crusaders Athletic Club! Quite a few members took part in the Corporate Triathlon Challenge and 5150 Triathlon on Saturday - congrats to all who took part, including Tarika, Megan & Willie Else, and Deenolan, as well as to Aletta and Johan for their age group podium placings in the 5150 🏅🎖️ Then on Sunday, in the full Ironman distance, congratulations to Kat and her guide Zako, as well as Johnny and Sandra. It took sheer grit over a long day - and that was just the Crusaders support crew (we're looking at you Angela, Odette, Alex, Patrick, Aletta and a few others 🤣). Well done to all, we are proud of our Ironman participants 🏆🏆🏆
