SOUTH AFRICA – HUMPBACK WHALE SUPERPODS 2026/2027

Our seasonal highlight along South Africa's wild West Coast!

Between Langebaan and St. Helena Bay, spectacular groups of feeding humpback whales gather seasonally. Along the way, we encounter dolphins, Cape fur seals, seabirds and, with a little luck, the fascinating Mola mola, or ocean sunfish.

Weather and sea conditions permitting, we spend up to six hours a day out on the water. We focus on small groups, responsible wildlife observation and our many years of local experience.

SARDINE RUN 2027 – WHEN THE OCEAN EXPLODES!

The legendary Sardine Run is one of the most spectacular marine wildlife events on the planet.

Enormous shoals of sardines, hunting dolphins, sharks, whales and thousands of Cape gannets create an incredible spectacle of action and wildlife encounters.

For more than 25 years, we have been following and documenting this extraordinary natural phenomenon along South Africa's East Coast.

MEXICO – LA PAZ & THE LEGENDARY MARLIN RUN, BAJA CALIFORNIA 2027

Get ready for an adventure that takes big-fish encounters to another level!

We combine the spectacular Marlin Run with encounters with sea lions, Mobula rays, whale sharks and an extraordinary underwater world.

Depending on conditions, we explore different stretches of coastline, discover a variety of reefs and move between different locations, using boats exclusively reserved for our groups.

Transfers across the breathtaking landscapes of Baja California are also part of the adventure, alongside detailed briefings, personal guidance and plenty of time out on the ocean.

Our speciality:

The Marlin Run as a combined specialist expedition – a unique experience offered by Expert-Tours in this particular format.

We meet at La Paz Airport and travel together to our hotel. After check-in, we hold a detailed briefing to prepare for the exciting days ahead.

Then it's time to head out to sea, searching for the extraordinary encounters that have made this region famous.

The ocean is unpredictable, but that's exactly where the magic lies!

Potential highlights include tiger sharks at Fuvahmulah, encounters with whale sharks and crossing the Equator.
