❄️ Winter has officially arrived at Ladysmith parkrun! ❄️
With our nearby mountains draped in snow, a heavy frost greeting us this morning, and overnight temperatures dropping to a chilly 2°C, we can safely say that autumn is now behind us and winter has well and
truly begun.
But cold weather was no match for the incredible spirit of the Ladysmith parkrun community. An amazing 80 brave parkrunners turned up for Event #404, ready to embrace the conditions and make the most of a crisp winter morning.
Your commitment and enthusiasm make it all worthwhile for our dedicated volunteers, who also braved the cold to ensure everyone enjoyed a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable event. A huge thank you to every volunteer and participant who helped make this week's parkrun another success.
We hope to see you all again next week. Until then, keep those gloves, beanies, and extra layers handy—you never know what winter might have in store for us!

🌫️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Ladysmith parkrun Report 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🌫️

A fantastic 120 parkrunners were greeted by a cool, misty morning, creating near-perfect conditions for today's event. ☺️

As we reach the halfway point of 2026, it's wonderful to see our loyal parkrun community continuing to turn up every Saturday. Your ongoing support makes every early morning worthwhile for our volunteer team, who love being part of your weekly journey.😃

Today's route may have tested a few legs and lungs, but that's what makes crossing the finish line so rewarding. Every hill climbed, every challenging section conquered, and every step forward is an achievement worth celebrating. Whether you ran, jogged, walked, volunteered, or simply encouraged others along the way, you were part of something special.😅

Remember, progress isn't measured by how fast you go, it's measured by showing up, pushing through the tough moments, and refusing to give up. Every Saturday is a new opportunity to challenge yourself, build resilience, and become a little stronger than you were the week before.😍

🌤️ Ladysmith parkrun Weekly Update 🌤️

The crisp morning weather conditions did not stop 114 parkrunners from attending our free scheduled 8 o’clock Saturday parkrun 👏🏽🏃🏽‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️(Event 402)

A warm welcome to all our visitors and first timers and it was awesome to see our regulars out there once again giving it their all!

A huge thank you to all our volunteers for your contribution in making it another successful event. We truly appreciate your time and effort 💛

What a beautiful morning at Ladysmith parkrun! 🌿☀️

Waking up to a fresh new day and perfect weather made it easy to see why 127 parkrunners and 17 amazing volunteers joined us this morning to make the event so special.

A warm welcome to all our first timers and visitors, we loved having you with us and truly appreciated the positive feedback received today.

Congratulations to young Adam Boardman on completing his 10th parkrun milestone! 👏 We look forward to celebrating many more achievements in the future.

A huge thank you to all our volunteers, including our visiting volunteers, for your support and enthusiasm. Events like these are only possible because of you.

Our venue is looking absolutely beautiful, and sincere thanks go to the Ladysmith Country Club for their ongoing support and partnership.

🎉 For the 400th time!

What a memorable day at Ladysmith parkrun!

Today we celebrated a huge milestone, our 400th parkrun, with an amazing turnout of 102 parkrunners joining in the celebration. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
The weather could not have been more perfect, making it a fantastic morning to mark such a special occasion. A warm welcome to all our first timers too — what an incredible day to experience your very first parkrun!
We were also thrilled to welcome our visitors:

🌟 Frances Chater, visiting all the way from the UK, with over 250 parkruns completed.
🌟 Dave Robinson from East Coast Umkomaas, who joined us for today’s event.
A massive congratulations to Sylvia Ellison on completing her 50th parkrun today — an awesome achievement! 👏

To our dedicated volunteers, thank you once again for your commitment and support. Your hard work behind the scenes helped make today such a special and successful celebration. We appreciate each and every one of you. 💛

Happy Mother’s Day for tomorrow everyone and we will see you next week again 🌸

Dear parkrun family,
Warm greetings from all of us!

Ladysmith parkrun (Event #399) was one to remember, filled with incredible milestones and a great sense of community. Out of our 102 finishers, we celebrated some amazing achievements:
👏 Willie Hall, visiting from Gauteng, completed his 200th parkrun
👏 Our very own Sakkie van den Berg reached an impressive 300 parkruns
👏 And a huge shoutout to our loyal supporter Gavin Law, who achieved an outstanding 400 parkruns, surrounded by the support of his family.

We also had the joy of welcoming Frankie, a new four-legged participant 🐾 We hope he’ll keep up with his experienced 14-year-old companion Oliver, who has completed many parkruns over the years!

With beautiful 🤩 weather, enthusiastic 😁runners, and dedicated volunteers🫂, our morning dose of exercise and fun was another reminder of what makes our parkrun community so special.

Thank you to each and every one of you for showing up and making Saturdays so worthwhile.

After a few cold and rainy days, we were greeted this morning by one of the most beautiful starts — and what a reward it was! The photos captured during our Event Day Course Check say it all 🌅

A total of 68 parkrunners made the most of the stunning conditions to complete event 398 — an awesome turnout and energy all around!

We were thrilled to welcome first-timers and visitors. A special shoutout to Carol-Anne Milne, who joined us from Roodepoort. She’ll be heading to Newcastle on Monday to take part in another parkrun — love that dedication! 👟

We’re also looking forward to hopefully welcoming back our local runner, Gavin Law, next week so we can celebrate a special achievement with him — more details coming soon 👀

And a huge congratulations to Pauline Venter, one of our incredible volunteers, who reached an amazing milestone last weekend with her 250th volunteer duty 🙌 Your commitment and service to parkrun and the wider community do not go unnoticed, thank you!

🌬️ Ladysmith parkrun Update 🌬️

What a morning! 101 parkrunners showed up strong and took on the windy conditions to complete event 397 💪

It was awesome to see so many happy, dedicated people out there – rain, wind or shine, this community keeps showing up and giving it their all 🙌

A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers for their support – we couldn’t do it without you. And a special thanks to the Country Club for the use of the venue.
