Nemlab is a diagnostic laboratory that specializes in the routine analysis of soil and root material. The aim of an analysis is to extract the nematodes from the soil and roots, to identify and count these nematodes and then to make a recommendation. The results of the routine analyses done by nemlab are interpreted in a report together with a recommendation regarding the problem, and the most sui

table and effective treatment for a specific infestation is given. nemlab also supplies ongoing advice and training relating to successful solutions to nematode related problems. As an additional service to producers, a nemlab nematologist is readily available to visit sites where nematode infestation requires first hand evaluation. Nemlab services are available to all producers whose objective is the health of their plants. The majority of samples received by nemlab originate from the vine and fruit industry. nemlab's diagnostic services are also used by various other producers and role players in the agricultural, turf grass, and nursery sectors. Companies that need trials done for the registration of new chemical and biological nematicides can approach nemlab for advice and the protocols required for these registrations. The sample data of the trials needed for these registrations can also be analysed by nemlab.
