💧 WATER vs ELECTROLYTES ⚡
Hydration isn't always one-size-fits-all.
For most normal, low-activity days, plain water is usually all your body needs to stay hydrated. 💧
But when you're exercising, hiking, playing sport, working in the heat, or doing anything that makes you sweat, you're losing more than just water. Sweat also contains important electrolytes such as sodium, which play a role in fluid balance and muscle function.
That's why on sweaty training days, I often make my simple homemade electrolyte drink:
🍋 Lemon juice or lemon slices to taste
🍯 2 tsp raw honey
🧂 ¼ tsp salt
💧 Water
Simple, affordable, refreshing, and a great way to support hydration during physical activity.
The key isn't to replace water with electrolytes. It's knowing when each is most appropriate.
💬 Do you usually drink plain water, or do you use electrolytes during training?
