Die Rooispan @ The Big Fish Challenge 2026🔥

Taking 2nd Place with a bag weight of over 60kgs, averaging over 20kgs per fish, Die Rooispan gave it their all at this year’s Big Fish Challenge.

Congratulations to: Ralf Coertze, Frans Sloet Delport, Tiaan Diederiks, Mias Steyn Hunter. It’s always thrilling to watch your anglng skills propser.

The journey to a first 40lb+🧨

A weekend to remember! After months of effort Tjokkie embraced this moment where he put his first 40lb+ fish on the mat. With this whopper to kick off his 40s album, we can’t wait to see what lays ahead.

Tjokkie fell in love with Rietspruit Dam at first sight, so much so he decided to purchase a home for his family to enjoy and for him to embark on his campaign. While himself and his son have landed numerous stunning carp on their last winter campaign, Tjokkie was looking to step it up this winter. That’s exactly what he did with this capture! His first fish, on his first session of this winter. To top it off, it was also his very first fish on his new 10 000XC reels.

Rigs and baits?
None other than a Combi German Rig, with a Carp Pro Baits Tropicana tiger tipped off with a bit of pop-up.

Stunner Alert 🧨…

Steven spent a few nights at Rietspruit Dam in his recent session. With the winter in full swing, he was hoping for something decent. Well, that was supplied in overflow with this stunning upper 30lb mirror. With the job done, it was time to sit back, enjoy a cup of coffee and enjoy the stunning winter sunset.
