Line honours and first Nacra 20 in the 68th edition of LDYC Round the Island Race.
What a weapon of a boat.

We are finding our groove as a newish team, after Flying H Man retired.

Spinnaker hslyard was a bit long and tied a ball of 3 slip knots in itself which cost us 10 minutes with kite in tramo fixing 😂🤷🏻‍♂️…

Another Round the island Race under the belt.
Hot day in the sun, no wind.
Forecast wind did not materialise.

Sailed the F20 on Sunday.
Puff-hunting at its best.
Front five boats spent the day tacking and gibing, showing the slower boats where not to go.
The rest of the fleet sailed straight around the course, as the wind kept switching.

Second F20 and fourth on line honours.
Thanks to Q4 for the opportunity to race these axing boats.
Thanks to our hosts club LDYC…
The best inland sailing club in RSA.

Full day of foiling on Saturday.
Learning to fly part 2…
Didn’t bother with tune-up race, was having too much fun.
Very proud of Zara and her ladies team.

They sailed the Dragoon unsupervised for there first time.

Back home and suffering from PRD/ post regatta depression…

Saturday afternoon was wild !
The August winds delivered bullets of gusts, shooting across the race course…

The islands Hyacinth weeds added extra sports, Plato g dodgers and lifting rudders to clear weeds…

Saturdays last race saw some awesome power reaching on the wire to the wether mark, as the wind headed in the string gust.

my side stay exploded on the just after finishing last race, causing the mast to came down…
Thanks to rescue for towing me in…
Replaced pin on shroud adjuster with shackle, not taking any more chances …

Sunday saw very light conditions favouring the lghter crews….

Happy to have won one of the light wind races and forced to take some gambles in the others, in order to hang
in…

Itching to get back on tne water in breeze… 💪🏻
