From Holy Rosary to the world stage πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Following outstanding performances at SA Schools Champs, Erin Beeming, Cleo de Keizer, Emilia Riccardi and Kate Zillen were selected to represent South Africa on the U16 Development Tour to the United Kingdom.

Racing at the iconic Dorney Lake, home of the 2012 Olympic Games, our athletes lined up against some of the strongest school and club crews in the UK and embraced every challenge with courage, composure and determination.

The tour began at Wallingford Regatta where Cleo de Keizer and Erin Beeming produced a phenomenal performance to claim gold in the JW16 Four final πŸ₯‡ Kate Zillen, Cleo de Keizer and Emilia Riccardi then powered their way to an outstanding 4th place finish in the JW16 Quad final, narrowly missing the podium in an incredibly competitive field. Erin Beeming also secured a strong 5th place finish in the JW16 Eight while Kate Zillen stepped up into senior racing in the Senior Women’s Double, finishing 5th in her heat against older competition.

The momentum continued at the Junior Scullery Regatta where Emilia Riccardi delivered one of the standout performances of the tour, dominating the B Final in the single sculls to take the win ⭐ Cleo de Keizer also took on the challenge of international single sculling, gaining valuable racing experience, while Kate Zillen and Erin Beeming battled their way to 4th in the B Final of the double sculls πŸ’₯

We are also incredibly proud of Coach Thabelo Masutha, who was selected as an official coach for the South African Development Tour, a reflection of the leadership and impact he continues to bring to our programme.

These results represent far more than medals and placings. They reflect years of hard work, sacrifice, resilience and belief.

To Erin, Cleo, Emilia and Kate, thank you for inspiring the next generation of Holy Rosary rowers. You have represented your school and your country with pride and this is only the beginning πŸš£β€β™€οΈβœ¨

This season the U19 girls put together a massive weekend of racing, and a successful end to the season at the 2025/26 SA Schools champs!! 🚣

On Friday they had a strong start which saw two scullers progress into the semifinals, with one advancing to the A final and the other narrowly missing out. In the final, we secured a solid 7th place in the first sculls event. Our pair also stepped up, making the A final and finishing an impressive 4th in the first pairs.

Going into Saturday racing stepped up into the doubles and fours, with both doubles progressing into their respective finals and the 1st four missing their final by just 1 position! The 2 doubles delivered determined performances to finish 5th and 8th overall in the first doubles!

On Sunday the focus shifted to the quads, where both crews competed strongly. The second quad qualified for the final and placed 6th, while the first quad powered into their final, finishing just off the podium in 4th place.
Across the weekend, the group showed grit, depth, and real competitive spirit, ultimately finishing 4th overall in their age group - a fantastic team effort to cap off a big regatta and seasonπŸ’ͺ
