Drawing from 11 official languages, South Africa’s slang reflects the country’s rich – and unique – diversity.

Here’s how to better understand the locals when on your next visit to Mzansi.

Makarapa: A makarapa is a hand-cut and hand-painted hard hat worn typically by sports fans at stadiums.

They belong to the typical South African football fan’s supporters gear and are increasingly popular with fans of other sports.

Fans spend hours sculpting and painting their makarapa in the colours and emblem of their club or country.

Awesome Day today and pleased to play a small part in the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy tour to SA by providing the makarapa's and vuvuzelas.
The unveiling also saw South African hip-hop star Casper Nyovest alongside U.S. artist Jason Derulo unveil the official 2018 Fifa World Cup Coca-Cola anthem, "Colours".
The Trophy was unveiled by FIFA representative, Coca-Cola Director of Global Football Marketing, The first female minister of sports, Honorable Minister Thokozile Xasa, SAFA President, Dr Danny Jordaan.
Also met up with Keagan Dolly's dad who came to Papadi/Makarapa to purchase some apparel and Tx to University of Forte Hare, Eastern Cape Government, Redham House Blue Hills, The Stevens Football Academy and FC Porto/Jeppe for their orders.
Finished the day with an excellent meeting at Ekhuruleni where we are planning a JV on some really exciting sporting initiatives!
