Masiphumelele Rugby Club Masiphumelele RFC also known as the Masi Pumas - a Rugby Club for the Community

The name of the club has been revised to the Spirit Masiphumelele RFC from May 2021. The Spirit Foundation has become the new title sponsor of the club for the next five years. The club has its origins as a Sunday team playing it's games in the Kayelitsha league. With no home venue to train or play in, their survival was dependent on their individual passion to play rugby. RFC has a home at the Noordhoek sports grounds, in the South Peninsula. Spirit Masiphumelele RFC not only represents the South Peninsula, it actively supports the development of rugby for all communities in the area. It is our vision with the new sponsorship deal, to make our way back into the Super C league and then Super B. We are a unique club with unique challenges, hence our motto, "Life beyond Rugby".

Today we celebrate all the fathers and father figures who are part of the Masi Rugby family.

A special shout out to our players, committee members, coaches and supporters who carry the responsibilities of fatherhood alongside their commitment to the club. We recognise the important role you play beyond rugby, as fathers and father figures raising children, supporting families, and helping to build stronger communities.

Thank you for the sacrifices you make, the values you teach, and the example you set every day.

You remind us that rugby is more than a game. It is about the people we become, the families we support, and the legacy we leave for the next generation.

Our thoughts go out to the family, friends and fellow sports team mates of Caleb Mair at False Bay Rugby-Club, Fish Hoek Cricket Club and here at Masiphumelele Rugby Club.

We were lucky to have Caleb spend some time in training and pre-match warm up games, proudly donning the Masi Pumas jersey. His enthusiasm and gees will be missed both on and off the field.
