UCT TV UCT TV is part of the Centre for Film and Media Studies at University of Cape Town. The Studio is built to BBC Specialisations.

It’s a BBC specification studio used for student and university productions. In addition we also provide full student crews to film training/educational videos, promotional documentaries, talks, seminars, conferences and events. These crews include directors, producers, camera operators, sound recordists and editors. UCT TV also offers gear for UCT student productions and post-production facilities. Duplication and digitization services also available

Alumna Ara Bhaba, who is now JBX coordinator; festival curator Ntlantla Ndaba; and Fanney Tsimong, who manages Young Voices and Joburg Film Society, shared all the great opportunities they offer that are geared to students and emerging filmmakers.

Behind the Scenes of The Social Survey

The Stepping Stone Multi-Cam workshop participants had the awesome experience of filming 'The Social Survey' at the UCT TV Studios this week. 'The Social Survey' was created by Free Film School ( Free Film School )alumni and is scheduled to be broadcast on Cape Town TV ( Cape Town TV )!

These collaborations are incredibly important for growing the industry and affording real-world opportunities to young South African filmmakers!

And we're off! Stepping Stone begins!

Today is the first day of our three-week Stepping Stone Multi-Cam course!

Presented by industry experts in collaboration with broadcasters, our participants will be learning:

🎥 conceptualising a multi-camera studio production;
📽️ various multi-camera studio production roles;
💬 designing and building a set for a talk show;
🎬 working in a multi-camera team; and
🎙️ working with a presenter and high-profile guests in a talk show context.
