There are so many benefits to yoga it would be impossible to list them all here, however, some of the main ones include: improved flexibility (the key to feeling younger), improved posture, toned muscles, increased strength and endurance, decreased stress levels, improved circulation and feeling more energised. Yoga works great as an add on to other sports/exercises or by itself. If you would like

Did you know your nose has erectile (yes you read that right 😉) tissue? Before you get all weirded out it’s how the nose opens & closes each nostril through the day, called nasal cycles. Breathing through the right nostril primarily tends to have an activating effect on the body, whereas breathing through the left nostril has the opposite effect. Many of you will recognise nadi shodhana, or alternate nostril breathing, from class which is a practice dedicated to manipulating the body’s functions with forced breathing through the nostrils.

1st big takeaway - mouth-breathing is really detrimental to our health in many ways. I was genuinely surprised by the difference breathing through your mouth regularly can make. This is backed up by loads of studies, as well as the experiment carried out by the author himself. Train yourself to breathe through your nose as often as possible. 👃😊
