Huge thanks to the photographers for the awesome photos, Skydive City for hosting us, John Minos for putting on the camp and organizing, to all the coaches for world class teachings and everyone who came to the camp to participate!

Much love ✌🏻

We are absolutely thrilled to get our hands on this amazing technology.

After four years of development, this week we started shipping FlySight 2. I am incredibly excited to introduce the new hardware.

FlySight 2 is a complete redesign, building on all the things we learned with FlySight 1. There are a few new features that really stand out for me:

* More powerful processor with Bluetooth Low Energy
* Improved audio quality
* Additional sensors (acceleration, rotation, orientation, pressure, humidity, temperature)
* Water resistant case (IP67)
* New mounting system
* USB C

Initially, the functionality of FlySight 2 will be similar to FlySight 1, but as with the original, we will be improving FlySight 2 with free firmware updates. The first priority once we get the hardware out the door will be to work with mobile application developers to build a Bluetooth Low Energy interface to transfer data and configure FlySight 2.

FlySight 2 can log GNSS at a rate of up to 25 Hz, pressure up to 200 Hz, and acceleration and rotation up to 6 kHz. Looking ahead, we will be using this data to provide information about the unit's orientation during a jump, as well as to improve the accuracy of distance measurements over short time spans, e.g., shortly after exit.

I've got a couple of posts planned to bring everyone up to speed on FlySight 2. As much as possible, I've tried to keep the interface similar to FlySight 1, so that we can build on existing knowledge within the community. With a couple of pointers, I hope the new hardware will feel familiar to anyone who has used FlySight 1.

As always, if you have any questions, please let me know in the comments.

2022 Canadian CP Team Training Camp!

After a short hiatus due to Covid, we are happy to announce the return of the Can CP Team Training camp. We are back and ready for our 8th annual Spring Team Training Camp.

This event is for those of you looking to refine your canopy skills. Start learning high-performance turns or preparing for entering the competition world.

The camp will be at Skydive City in Zephyrhills, FL, from March 21-25, 2022.

Registration is $525.CAD
We will be making up to 50 jumps over five days!
Tickets will be $24.USD per Hop n Pop.

The registration fee covers all five days of coaching with Jay and the Canadian Team, as well as a closing night event with food and drinks.

We will be using video and FlySight GPS to debrief jumps.

The unique thing about this camp is the "team" training format. If you're in, bring a positive attitude and a commitment to working hard to get all the jumps in each day and contribute to the team dynamic! If we land in the pond, we pack up wet and swoop it dry.

We keep the coaching fees low using the "group" training format. It's all about working together as a team to get current early in the season and knock out lots of jumps in a short period of time. Coaching each other, helping each other stay focused and motivated- it's pretty awesome. Jay and a member of the Canadian team will be shooting video, debriefing jumps, and FlySight data when they can, but because of the fast pace, not every jump will get a full debrief and a video review.

Slots are limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis.
We already have 13 of those slots spoken for, so "JUMP" on this opportunity before it's gone.

Contact Johnny Minos via FB Messenger to be added to the group or reach out to him directly via email at [email protected]
