Yesterday was incredible.

More than 225 performers rehearsed, 50 Tia Tots enjoyed class, hundreds of parents came through for costumes and tickets, and nearly 30 staff members and volunteers kept everything running behind the scenes.

I’m proud of the Tia Russell family. What people will see on stage June 27 is the result of a village showing up, working together, and believing in something bigger than themselves. The performance is important, but watching arts, culture, and community come alive under one roof is the real masterpiece.

Ballet. Hip Hop. Jazz. West African Dance. Creative Writing. Arts & Crafts. Recreation. Community.

At that price, we could charge much more. We choose not to.

Because access matters.

Another TRDS prom beauty stopped by the arts center before her big night, and moments like this truly mean so much to us. 🖤 I love this tradition because it reflects everything we celebrate at Tia Russell — arts, culture, and community. The fact that our students choose to come by and share these special moments with us will never get old. Forever proud of our girls! ✨

One sign. So much history. 🖤 This piece followed us from one of our early front desks, where it lived for close to a decade, to our new home at the Tia Russell Arts Center. We stenciled it, chiseled it off the desk, boxed it up for over a year, pieced it back together, and brought it back to life. Now it’s the perfect focal point and the perfect touch full of memories, growth, and purpose. Let me know what y’all think in the comments 👀✨

Still speechless. ❤️🖤 Our Ribbon Cutting Celebration was filled with prayer, love, community, joy, and moments we’ll never forget. Thank you to everyone who showed up, poured into us, and celebrated this milestone with the Tia Russell Arts Center. What a beautiful day. ✂️🎉
