🚨 IMPORTANT NFA / SUPPRESSOR UPDATE 🚨

There has been a major development in the fight over the National Fi****ms Act (NFA) and suppressor regulations.

On August 5, a federal judge ruled that the NFA’s federal registration and approval requirements for suppressors, SBRs and SBSs exceed Congress’s constitutional authority after Congress reduced the applicable NFA tax to $0. (NRA-ILA)

This is a huge victory for gun owners and the Second Amendment community! 🇺🇸

However, there is still an important piece that North Dakota gun owners need to understand.

The federal government has indicated that it does not intend to appeal, but the formal appeal window is still open for 60 days following the August 5 judgment. (Clyde House)

AND — North Dakota has its own law.

North Dakota Century Code § 62.1-05-01 specifically addresses silencers/suppressors and currently requires compliance with the National Fi****ms Act.

That means the federal ruling does not automatically eliminate North Dakota’s state-law requirements. State law is something that needs to be addressed separately.

🇺🇸 WHAT CAN NORTH DAKOTA GUN OWNERS DO?

Contact your North Dakota state legislators.

If you believe North Dakota’s Century Code should be updated to reflect the changes happening at the federal level, let your legislators know.

Ask them to consider changing the Century Code so that law-abiding North Dakota residents aren’t subject to a state requirement that relies on a federal NFA process that the courts are now saying can no longer be enforced in the same way.

🗣️ Let them know you support updating North Dakota law.

Your voice matters — especially when lawmakers are considering changes to state law.

This is an opportunity for North Dakota to make sure our state statutes keep pace with changes in federal law and continue to protect the rights of law-abiding gun owners.

WE GOT LEECHES!
The walleye action has been better toward New Town than at White Earth Bay. Work the North
Shore West of Beacon Island, Little Knife Bay, Moe’s Beach, and Antelope Flats. The best bait
has been leeches, which is typical when they get hard to find. We scored big on leeches and
have about fifty pounds in stock right now. They will be going fast, but we should have them all
the way to the WOW Derby. Get out early and beat the heat!!

Just a quick heads up!
Fishing has really taken off on this end of the lake again, and the water has cleaned up nicely. The first good report came in on Thursday and Friday. The hot weather this weekend will make it a little challenging, so get out there early!
