Our UPMC team showed up at the ballpark this summer! ⚾

Throughout the Williamsport Crosscutters Baseball 2026 season, UPMC physicians, advanced practice providers, service line leaders, and staff members had the opportunity to step out of their usual roles and be part of the action at Journey Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field.

From throwing out ceremonial first pitches and presenting Player of the Week awards to cheering from the stands, it was great to see our team members representing UPMC and connecting with the community in a different way.

Congratulations to the Crosscutters on becoming the 2026 MLB Draft League Champions!

Welcome to Bowman Field Flashback—every Monday through Sept. 28 we look back at the people, moments, and memories that built 100 years of baseball history at Journey Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field!

Exhibition games involving the Williamsport Grays and major league teams at bowman field always did well at the gate, generating enough revenue to buffer the club through tough financial times. Major league teams playing exhibition games in Williamsport included; The Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Pirates, Boston Red sox, St. Louis Browns, Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies and NY Mets. Connie Macks Philadelphia A’s played 13 games in Williamsport between 1931 and 1953- the most appearances by any major league team.

Welcome to Bowman Field Flashback—every Monday through Sept. 28 we look back at the people, moments, and memories that built 100 years of baseball history at Journey Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field!

Boomer, burst onto the scene in 2008 after former Cutters mascot Rusty Roughcut announced he was leaving to compete in national lumberjack competitions. But before his departure, Rusty recommended his furry blue forest friend for the job of the Cutters new mascot. Since then Boomer has made himself into the most beloved mascot in Williamsport baseball history. His crazy antics, talent on the 4-wheeler and lovable personality have resonated with Cutters fans young and old for almost 20 years.
