We had a birthday party on the boat today! Wyatt celebrated his 10th birthday with friends and family fishing on Lake Erie! He was on a mission to catch a walleye so we decided to try trolling stick baits in the shallows. It took a while to find some active fish but once we did we had a steady bite all morning. We had 27 fish in the boat when the boys decided they wanted to try their luck perch fishing. I hadn’t heard any good reports so I went on a scouting trip and found good marks in 28 fow. It wasn’t long and the boys were dialed in. We caught a lot of perch but only about 1/4 were big enough to keep. After a couple of hours, we had 37 perch in the cooler and a boat full of tired boys. It was a day to be on the water! I still have openings next weekend if anyone is interested!

Due to a cancellation, I now have both Saturday and Sunday (8-22 and 8-23) open for perch and or walleye trips. I had a great box of walleye casting on Saturday and the perch fishing was good for my buddies. Get a hold of me to book a trip. 419-706-4095

As I was getting on the boat yesterday, I had my hands full of stuff and dropped my phone into the lake! $700 later, I was able to get a new phone but lost most contacts that had been created in the past 3-5 years! If you are a fairly new customer, please send me a text with your name so I can add your contact information back into my phone. On a side note, the perch were hungry yesterday.

Today’s trip was an extra special one for me. I had the pleasure of Fishing with Trent Deaton and crew. This was the Jason Wiles benefit trip that I raffled off last winter. Jason was a life long friend who lost his courageous battle with cancer last September. We started out casting and caught six fish before putting the trolling gear in the water to finish out the day. I have had many days with low visibility today due to fog but never because of all of the smoke from the wildfires! It smells like you have been sitting around a campfire all day. I have never seen anything like it. Burning eyes and throat with a headache after fishing in it this morning. At least the fishing was good!

Fishing was on fire again today. Fish have been eating harnesses like they are candy! I have tomorrow open if anyone is interested in a last-minute trip. Tomorrow is the only open date for over 2 weeks.
