We are Montana's oldest snowboard shop. Our passion is snowboarding and making sure our customers ha It can't get better than that! We are open 8:30-5 everyday.

Our Whitefish Mountain Resort village location offers the best ski and snowboard rentals in the valley. We offer Lib Tech, GNU, Never Summer, Sims, Jones, K2 and Nitro in our snowboard fleet and Rossignol basic and performance level skis. We are slopeside so you can quick stop in if you have any problems with equipment or want to try a different board or skis. If you are taking the S.N.O.W bus or

a hotel shuttle from town you can be dropped off right in front of the store. At the end of your day have a refreshment at The Bierstube while you wait for your ride back down the mountain.

SPRING BREAK 2026! We are taking a little reprieve after the mountain closes on Sunday. Downtown will be closed tomorrow for Easter through all of next week, reopening Monday April 14th, and sadly tomorrow will be the last day of the season for the Mountain shop! Come say high and give our crew a high five! See ya out there for our last two days of lifts!

We are the closest rental shop to the main lift plaza, offer free overnight storage for renters, reservation discount, daily locker rentals, no extra charge for a “performance” boot, just the right gear for you enabling you to enjoy your day on snow! Happy Small Business Saturday! Being a small business in a small town is truly such a special thing. Being able to know our community so intimately, to have coworkers become family, to get kids stoked on snowboarding - selling them their first set up, to work with local artists and sell their mech, are all things we will never take for granted. “Snowboards” may be in the name, but we sure rent some insane gear for those who slide on two planks. With the majority of our performance rental skis getting replaced this season with fresh Arcades & Senders and some Rip Stick Blacks and Playmakers. We are excited to expand our offering this year, so we now have Rip Sticks in both our rental packages. We have been voted the best rental shop the last three years in a row, and we have the gear and staff to back that up!

33 years ago, dressed as Charlie Brown, Joe officially opened Stumptown. I couldn’t find a photo of the original shop in the back of Sound Garden, so I thought I’d share this old snowboard. Joe made this board in the late 80s while in 8th grade shop class, and it can now be found on the wall in the back of the shop. With bungees for bindings and surf fins on the bottom, it was ridden off what is now Northern Lights Drive. We always celebrate our anniversary in November with our sale, but Halloween of 1992 is the true opening day.
