Today’s ride took us to the incredible Monastery of San Benedetto (Sacro Speco) in Subiaco, built right into the mountainside around the cave where Saint Benedict lived as a hermit in the 6th century.

History, breathtaking views, serious climbing, and two wheels — this is why we love exploring Italy by bike! ❤️🇮🇹

🚴🏽‍♂️🚴🏻‍♀️🍷Exploring Fiuggi and the Cesanese Wine Road! 🇮🇹

Today’s ride took us through the beautiful hills and vineyards surrounding Fiuggi, in the heart of Lazio’s Cesanese wine country. 🍇 Cesanese is the area’s signature red grape, and nearby Cesanese del Piglio DOCG is Lazio’s only DOCG red wine.

Great roads, beautiful scenery, Italian wine… this is exactly why we love exploring on two wheels! 🐺🚴‍♀️🍷

🇮🇹 Back in Rome… and it feels good to be here. ❤️

After checking into the hotel, we dropped our bags, took a breath, and headed out on foot for dinner.

No itinerary. No rushing. Just the two of us walking the streets of Rome, taking it all in and enjoying being back in a place that feels so special to us.

After five months and 11,300 miles on the road with Wolf Mobile, it’s pretty amazing to trade the RV for the streets of Rome. 🐺🚐➡️🇮🇹

Tonight was simple: a walk, good food, a little wine, and being together.

Sometimes the best part of a journey is simply being there.

After 5 months, 23 states, 24 National Parks, and 11,300+ miles on the road with Wolf on Wheels, we’ve traded the RV for a new adventure across the Atlantic! 🌎➡️🇮🇹

Rome, Italy — we’re here! ❤️

The bikes stayed home this time, but the adventure didn’t. 🚶‍♂️📸
Now it’s time for ancient history, incredible food, beautiful streets, and memories we’ll carry home with us.

Five months on the road, exploring 23 states and 22 National Parks in our Leisure Travel Van — and we didn’t just drive through them, we experienced them by bike too.

From the deserts of the Southwest to the mountains of Montana, the Pacific Northwest, California, and back across the country, we rode 1,200 miles on scenic roads, rail trails, and inside National Parks.

23 states. 22 National Parks. 11,300 road miles. 1,200 cycling miles. One incredible journey.

This is more than a road trip. It’s the story of the places we discovered, the roads we traveled, the miles we rode, and the memories we made along the way.
