💪 Strength Training Is for More Than Just Strength

For women, strength training is about building a body that can keep up with the life you want to live.

Resistance training helps maintain muscle and strength as we age, supports bone health, and improves balance and physical function. These benefits become especially important through midlife and beyond, when maintaining muscle and bone strength becomes a bigger part of long-term health.

And one of the tools we love using at Ethos? The sled!

Sled pulls are a great way to challenge your legs, glutes, core, and cardiovascular system while building functional strength. They can also be easily adjusted by changing the load, making them a versatile option for different fitness levels.

The best part? Sled work has a very practical carryover. Building strength and endurance through pushing and pulling can help prepare you for everything from carrying groceries to tackling a Colorado hike.

Strong isn’t a look. It’s the ability to keep doing the things you love. ❤️

The SkiErg isn’t just for skiers! This versatile piece of equipment is a great way to build cardiovascular endurance, upper-body strength, core stability, and power—all in one movement.

Here are a few reasons we love it at Ethos:

💪 Full-body movement: Your arms, shoulders, back, core, and legs work together to generate power.

❤️ Builds endurance: It challenges your cardiovascular system and can improve your ability to sustain effort and recover between intervals.

🔥 Low-impact conditioning: The SkiErg provides a challenging cardio option without the repetitive impact of running.

⚡ Develops power: Learning to drive the movement from your hips and core helps build explosive strength and coordination.

The best part? The resistance and intensity can be adjusted to meet you where you are—whether you’re building your fitness foundation or pushing toward a new performance goal.

At Ethos, our coaches help you learn how to use equipment effectively so every movement has a purpose.

Strong. Capable. Ready for whatever comes next. 💪

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”

Getting stronger isn’t about one incredible workout. It’s about what happens when you keep showing up.

It’s choosing consistency over perfection. It’s learning a movement, practicing it, and coming back to it again. It’s celebrating the days when you add another rep—and the days when simply making it through the door is the win.

Over time, those small efforts become something bigger: more strength, more confidence, better movement, and a greater belief in what you’re capable of.

You don’t have to do everything today. Just keep building. One workout at a time. 💪

Healthy athletes are built in the weight room. In season, off season, and especially, post season. The right training model can keep performance outputs high for the entire season.

At Ethos we build programs that help improve your athletes for this season, and the next one.

Stay on the field.

Training preparation is easy to write off as unimportant because it feels like the boring part.
then why are Coaches at Ethos always breaking down the specifics of movement patterns and changing the warmups for each day and block?

Movement quality starts when you walk in the door.

We have several types of tissue in our bodies that need that good quality movement to get activated and prepared for the workouts ahead.

“Surround yourself with people who believe in you, challenge you, and help you become your best self.”

The right coach can make all the difference.

At Ethos, coaching is about more than counting reps or demonstrating exercises. It’s about getting to know you, understanding your goals, meeting you where you are, and helping you discover what you’re capable of.

The right coach celebrates your wins, helps you work through challenges, and knows when to push you—and when to modify.

Because when you have the right support behind you, showing up gets a little easier, progress feels a little more achievable, and the journey becomes a whole lot more fun. 💪

Find a coach who believes in you. Then let’s get stronger together.

Rainbow ball slams are a fun, dynamic movement that combines power, coordination, core strength, and conditioning. They’re a great way to train your body to generate force while moving through different planes of motion.

Here’s the sequence:

1️⃣ Start with the medicine ball held at one side of your body.
2️⃣ Reach the ball up and overhead, creating a big arc—or “rainbow”—from one side to the other.
3️⃣ Use your core, hips, and upper body to drive the ball down toward the floor with power.
4️⃣ Pick it up, reset your posture, and repeat the movement toward the opposite side.
The goal isn’t simply to move the ball quickly. Control the movement, generate power from your whole body, and maintain good form from start to finish.

At Ethos, our coaches use movements like rainbow ball slams to help clients develop explosive power, coordination, and athleticism in a safe, purposeful way.

Move with intention. Generate power. Have fun getting stronger! 💪

If you feel like you’re either dieting or “off track,” this is for you.
You do not need to be in fat loss mode all year to make progress. Nutrition should have seasons.

There may be times when fat loss is the goal. There should also be times when you are eating to maintain, build strength, support performance, recover well, and simply live your life without constantly trying to eat less.

On Tuesday, September 8th, we’re hosting a free Women’s Nutrition Seminar with Elissa Carroll of Tailored Fitness + Fettle + Food.

We’ll talk about:

* how to determine the right macro balance for you

* why tracking accuracy matters during focused fat-loss phases

* how meal prep, hydration, and movement fit into the bigger picture

* and why “all in” or “starting over Monday” doesn’t have to be the cycle

This is practical nutrition for real life, not another generic meal plan or challenge.

Comment “nutrition” and we’ll send you the link.
