Put the car down and make sure it tracks properly.

If you're constantly correcting the steering just to keep the car moving straight, you're making the car harder to drive—and scrubbing off speed.

Check the steering for anything loose, bent or binding, and make sure the car behaves predictably before race time.

A predictable car gives you something extremely valuable:

Confidence.

And confident drivers make better laps.

🔧 HORIZON SPEEDWAY TECH TIP

Four little contact patches are all that connect your race car to the track.

That makes your tires pretty important.

Before racing, inspect them carefully.

Look for damage, uneven wear, dirt or anything that could affect how smoothly the car rolls.

And here's something beginners often overlook:

Check that every wheel spins freely.

A car fighting unnecessary resistance is giving away speed before the green flag even drops.

You don't always need more power.

Sometimes you just need less resistance.

🏁 FOUR RACES LEFT. ONE YEAR TO FINISH STRONG. 🏁

The 2026 season is heading into the final stretch at Horizon Speedway—but we're definitely not slowing down.

What started as people showing up with RC cars has become something bigger. Rivalries. Laughs. Close finishes. New racers becoming regulars. Regulars becoming friends. And a group of people who genuinely look forward to getting together and racing.

Now we have four races left in 2026.

🍂 September 27 — First Fall Race
🎃 October 25 — Halloween Havoc
🏁 November 1 — The November Showdown
🎄 December 13 — The Holiday Showdown

Four more chances to race.
Four more chances to battle for position.
Four more Sundays with the people who have made Horizon Speedway what it is.

Summer may be winding down, but Horizon Speedway is getting ready to fire things back up!

Join us Sunday, September 27th for our First Fall Race and an afternoon of fast cars, friendly competition, and a great RC racing community.

🔧 HORIZON SPEEDWAY TECH TIP

Your battery isn't something you should think about five minutes before your race.

Take care of it.

Charge it properly. Inspect the connections. Keep your batteries organized and know which packs you've already run.

And don't assume a battery is good just because it took a charge.
Consistency matters.

A well-maintained battery helps give you predictable performance from the opening lap to the checkered flag.

Forget about finishing first.

Instead, try these goals:

✅ Finish every heat.
✅ Avoid unnecessary crashes.
✅ Improve one lap at a time.
✅ Learn something new.
✅ Have fun.

Those small victories build confidence.

Before you know it, you'll be battling for podium finishes.

Remember...
The goal isn't to drive the fastest lap.
The goal is to drive the fastest race.
Consistency beats raw speed almost every time.

The beauty of Losi NASCAR Box Stock racing is simple:

Keep the cars equal and let the drivers make the difference.

Before you start looking for ways to make your car faster, make sure the basics are right.

Check your car for:
• Loose screws or hardware
• Wheels that don't spin freely
• Binding anywhere in the drivetrain
• Damaged or worn parts
• Anything that doesn't meet Box Stock rules

Sometimes the fastest "upgrade" isn't an upgrade at all.

It's making sure the car you already have is working exactly the way it's supposed to.
