Huge congratulations to Joy for crushing a 98 lb Press PR today! 💥

Joy was a bit reluctant to try for this milestone, but the platform doesn't lie. Her coach noticed she was spending too much time and energy in a long, inefficient setup, leaving her with no gas left for the actual lift.

Today, we changed the game plan: speed up the approach, unrack with intent, stay tight from the get-go, and press. She executed the cue perfectly and absolutely nailed it.

Meet Michael Shammas, Head Coach at Starting Strength Boston! 🏋️‍♂️

Before he was helping our trainees master their lifting form,, Michael spent his career as a private music instructor. He knows that whether you’re picking up a guitar or a barbell, success comes down to two things: precision and practice.

Michael traded the studio for the gym floor because he wanted to see a tangible, life-changing impact on people’s health.

"Every day I get to make a difference in people’s lives, helping them become stronger and healthier while having fun in the process. I love having that kind of one-on-one impact instead of being at a desk behind a computer screen."
