One of our BIGGEST priorities here at Silver Fox is our horses’ turnout. Not only in the quality of the fields we provide, but in the duration as well (8-14 hours).

Our trainers and staff are working hard to provide only the best turnout options possible. W**d control, mowing, rotation schedule for proper rest, and small yet high compatible groups for that safe, herd feeling. Why is this so important to us?

Megan has always felt that in order to bring the best out of an equine athlete at shows, we have to provide the best at home, but always first in the horses’ basic and instinctual desires. Horses are grazers and herd animals, so it only makes sense to allow them to do the main thing their bodies are designed to do, with each other.

In doing this, we can reduce the risk of ulcers, colic, stress habits, and behavioral issues.

Although competing is our focus when it comes to the training side, we only wish to do so on the happiest of horses.

And don’t worry, we still have restricted options for those grass sensitive ponies!

The SF Show Team had a great weekend at Happenstance Farms a couple weeks ago. Highlights include:

Evelin Gregory and On the Rocks: reserve champion in x rails at Evelins first show!

Ava Wobbe and Winters Whisper had competitive rounds and earned some top ribbons in the giant x rails at Ava’s first show as well!

Amanda Kohne and Prosharose:🥉in the .60m jumper classic and great improvement in their .60m rounds all weekend!

Amanda also took her OTTB Blunder off property for the first time to help him gain some valuable experience!

Megan Lockey and Asian Market: 🥉 in the .75m jumper classic and top ribbons in their first .75-.80 division together!

Megan Harp and Mystic Flight: Champion in the .75-.80 and Kevin moved up to the .85-.95 for the first time!

It’s always a great time getting to horse show with all of these wonderful riders. We’re excited and gearing up for the show packed summer ahead! And a thank you to Happenstance Farms for providing these great opportunities!

Silver Summer Hunter/Jumper Show May 16th

We are proud to offer a fun new schooling show opportunity for the upcoming horse and/or rider.

What a great first show of the season for team SFS at the NEC this past weekend! We had a lot of firsts and new equine faces this show including:

Ovation for Oscar “Guppy” piloted by Hayley Iffrig. This was 5yo Guppys first show and first off property experience with us. Guppy schooled well over fences, handling the atmosphere exceptionally well for a baby, and even won both of his large and competitve under saddles. Great job to Hayley for providing such a positive experience for this upcoming star!

Rosea Rose piloted by our assistant trainer Amanda Kohne had her first ever show as well and has only been jumping for the last few months. The pair made improvements every single round in their puddle jumpers, staying in top ribbons all weekend. Rosie is showing great promise as a jumper and we are excited to see her blossom under Amandas riding this season!

Winters Whisper ridden by Mackenzie Mayden made her comeback after several years away from the show ring. They ended the weekend with a reserve champ in x rails out of a large group, and Mackenzie did an amazing job of knocking the rust off for Whisper. We are stoked to have another quality lesson horse to provide our riders with good showing experiences!

Megan Lockey and Asian Market had their first show together as a team. This was Asia’s first show in about 2 years and she did not miss a beat. They had great results out of a super competitive 2ft jumper group as they get to know each other better. Watch out for these two this summer!

Gracie Jones and Gatsby got to know each other better this weekend as another new paid to the team They played in the x rails for their first show and had some top ribbons including a win in the competitive under saddle! Gracie shows great tenacity and works hard towards her goals and we are excited to see what she achieves with her new mount!

Ella Fruits and the lovely Cailin Dobh continue to make improvements in their rounds in the puddle hunters and stayed in top ribbons out of a tough group, including an under saddle win. They are working hard towards their 2ft goals and it shows!

Isla Siffring and Hero’s Journey made their debut in the jumper ring together for the first time to earn reserve champ going smooth and clear every round. Odessa is proving to be a phenomenal 3 ring horse and it’s safe to say Isla is hooked!

Mystic Flight made his come back in the 2’6 jumpers to earn champion on sunday. This horse shows so much grit and determination, hes going to make a very competitive jumper with more miles!

Great work and congrats to each and every rider this weekend for all the hard work they put in to achieve their goals! A big thank you Prime Time Horse Shows for hosting quality shows and J. Sweet Photography for capturing every moment.
