Thank you for the kind words šŸ’•

ISR is the global leader in the industry it pioneered in 1966: survival swimming lessons for infants and young children.

There are plenty of swimming programs available here in our community, but none offer the research, safety and unparalleled results ISR provides with 60 years in practice!

Short lessons= better focus & better retention!

šŸ” Self-rescue swimming is a sensorimotor skill learned best through frequent, repeated experiences over time

🧠 Daily practice helps the brain and body build new pathways faster

Reach out today with any questions you may have. I love talking about the ISR approach! It’s truly incredible šŸ’Ŗ

Kids can do hard things and I’ll be there to support them the whole way through!

Is it easy to listen to them cry in the beginning? Nope.

Is it worth it? Yes!

Not only are they learning life-saving skills, but they’re building self-esteem.

I truly love what I do, and I appreciate all of your kind words šŸ’•

After a few weeks, this is what your child will accomplish! I’ll never teach a child to just splash & play & become ā€œcomfortable in the waterā€. I teach real skills so they’ll know what to do should they ever reach the water alone. This cutie completed her session (she started at 11 months) and can find her float from any angle. Up next (now that she is walking/running!!) she will learn the swim-float-swim sequence, so she can chase her big brother both on land & in water 🤣 šŸƒā€ā™‚ļøšŸƒā€ā™€ļø
I love seeing siblings master these skills side by side šŸ’•

This is what the beginning of an ISR session for an infant looks like…I ā€˜let’ him…Let him test the boundaries…..(With quick fixes and positive reinforcement to remind him of where he needs to be). Then I give him the opportunity to experience his buoyancy all on his own. And he nails it! He is so proud & he should be. He is working hard šŸ’Ŗ It’s gentle. It’s safe. It’s effective.✨10 mins each day✨4 days each week✨for 7 weeks= real skills & independence for him + peace of mind for mom & dad …all before he can even walk or talk.

**Reminder** When selecting your swim time, please keep in mind children can’t have anything to eat or drink 2 hours prior to their lesson. A favorite snack or meal is a wonderful reward AFTER lessons & Wells is full of great options for that

This rockstar 20-month-old is enrolled in my lessons so:
āœ”ļø He builds confidence in the water from an early age
āœ”ļø He can identify safe spots (wall or stairs) and move himself to safety using a swim-float-swim sequence
āœ”ļø He knows how to find air, roll to his float, rest, and breathe when needed
Strong skills.
Early confidence.
Lifesaving foundations. šŸ’™

Water accidents occur unexpectedly, often during ā€œnon-swimā€ times when babies & toddlers are wearing everyday clothes like pajamas or jeans, not swimsuits. These heavy, waterlogged outfits weigh them down, making it difficult to stay afloat, which is why the ISR programs practices swimming in clothing as a critical self-rescue skill.

There are plenty of swimming programs available in our community, but none offer the research, safety and unparalleled results ISR provides with over 60 years in practice!

Hi, I’m Erica, Certified ISR instructor and mom of two (+ puppy Moxie who’s not pictured here because she is always off chasing seagulls).

I discovered the ISR program after spending years in traditional swim lessons, feeling frustrated by the lack of actual skill being taught. I was captivated by the ISR approach, and completely floored by the results! My children learned to swim in a matter of weeks, not years.

If you’ve been considering ISR for your family, let’s set up a time to chat. I would love to see if my lessons align with your swim goals. I am passionate about water safety, and truly love sharing these life-saving skills with like-minded families in southern Maine!

✨THE MAGIC OF BREATH CONTROL✨
Spoiler alert: It’s not magic, it science.
& It’s taught with intention, a half a second at a time, by educated instructors. Breath control is the very first skill taught in ISR, and lessons will not continue until the child has mastered it. Once breath control is mastered, it serves as the foundation for everything they’ll learn in their ISR session. From self-rescue skills to movement in their swim all the way to jumping in on their own. That breath control is the basis of their calm & the place where they build their confidence for a lifetime of enjoyment in the water!
