Pit Stop Rc Raceway and Hobbies

We have had a lot of questions about classes and rules. As we work through that we figured we would get the easy ones out of the way.

We recognize that major manufactures are now making RTR dirt oval specific kits, we also realize that there is a demand for stock oval racing. With that said we are planning on having “Turn key Tuesday”

Turn Key Tuesday will be all RTT cars in their stock form. Traxxas Modified, Traxxas Late Model, the popular Losi Sprint Car and the Traxxas Street Stock.

The late model, modified and sprint will run as they come from the factory however you are allowed to replace the radio and receiver with one of your choosing. All other components must remain stock. The street stock class will use local street stock rules as to allow drivers to go from track to track with very little changes.

We will run this program on Tuesday nights and points will be kept separate from the weekend series.

Stay tuned for our main class list and rules set as we work through that. But for now get those RTR cars tuned up!!

As we inch closer to finally getting started we would like to thank everyone that has reached out and offered help.

Paul Peterson with Shark RC Bodies LLC was the first to reach out and offer to help. Shark is a leader in 1/10 scale and SC scale Race bodies. Pit Stop will carry a full line of Shard RC Bodies in the store. There is also talks of hosting one of Shark’s “Wild Card” races so watch for details on that.

Joey Steenbergen with Ultimate Designs also has offered to take care of all the signage for the race track. Joey and Jeff do an amazing job with their Rc wraps and designs. Check them out for all your race wrap needs

We have also teamed up with Insta-Gator Tire Wash. Insta-Gator is a chemical free tire wash used by many races locally and will be sold in the hobby store.

There is so much more that goes into an RC track past the dirt and walls. Tables, chairs, monitors, scoring system, computer, power strips, cables and adapters have all been ordered and delivered and ready for installation. We want to hit the ground running come October

Good morning everyone. Amazed with the support we have received already. We have gotten quite a few messages and e-mails regarding scheduled and classes. So I figured I get it all out in the open.

We are located in Watertown Wi. 30 minutes east of Madison.

We get the keys to the building on August 1st and plan on going racing in October after the outdoor season comes to an end. We are going to work closely with neighboring tracks to insure we do not have scheduling conflicts. Nothing worse than making racers choose where to go on race day in my opinion. Without knowing to much of what other tracks are doing we are probably going to lean towards Friday/Saturday as our main race day. We are also looking to have a mid-week race day as well geared more towards the ready to run cars. But more details to come on that.

As far as track surface. We are going to do a “loose” dirt track surface much like Attitude or PT’s. There has been a lot of questions about that as well.

As far as classes. I have gone back and forth on classes and have studied closely what neighboring tracks are doing. None of this is official but I would plan on

Amateur
Slash Street Stock
SC Modified
SC Late Model
Buggy B-Mod
1/10 Late Model
1/10 Sprint Car

I am also considering Midget and Buggy Street Stock but may put those on a rotation with something else. I don’t want to do to much to fast. The classes listed above have a very strong presence in the area and I want to support them. Tires and rules are also up in the air at this time as well. We will get all that squared away as we work our way through the summer.

We also plan on having a hobby shop and retail area at the track to support the local community.
