The H-Pattern Stick Shift ranks continue to heat up - Sean Madden resets the eighth-mile record with a 4.21 at 174 mph!

Just a week ago, Joel Grannas eclipsed the H-Pattern Stick Shift world record on the quarter-mile that had stood for two years, with a 6.490 at 222 mph from his new 2JZ-powered Fox Mustang during testing at Bradenton Motorsports Park!

Since then, social media has been abuzz with talks of how many more times would the 6.495 record that Nick Cole-Mann held for more than two years be eclipsed. Last night, another stick shift world record was broken, but on the half-track distance.

Sean Madden, who debuted a freshly built 2016 Corvette at this year's TX2K event in March, has only competed in two events this year - TX2K and Street Car Braggin Rights. He's won them both, with runs in the 6.5-second range at both.

We wondered how much remained in the tank for the new ride, and last night at US 60 Dragway in Kentucky, Madden showed a little more of what the supercharged Corvette had in store, breaking the eighth-mile record with a 4.213 at 174.83 mph time slip!

The numbers look like this:
1.0931 - 60 foot
2.7991 - 330 foot
4.2136 - eighth-mile time
174.83 - eighth-mile mph

How much lower can the H-Pattern Stick Shift record be pushed? Chances are we'll see some serious shots at those records at the WI Outlaw Stick Shift Challenge on September 11-12 at Great Lakes Dragaway.

EDELBROCK SICK 66 ROUTE REVEALED

Don't be the person who always said they would. Be the person who did!

The official route for Edelbrock Sick 66 has been revealed! A total of 1444 miles, tracing Route 66, will make for the ultimate 100th anniversary celebration of the Mother Road.

There’s no road as iconic as Route 66, known by automotive enthusiasts worldwide. Driving on Route 66 stirs your emotions — and you will see the United States of America in a totally different way once you drive it. All kinds of landscapes, small towns to big cities, faded glory to exciting new additions.

Being the 100th anniversary of Route 66, there has never been a better time to drive it. Do you want to be the person who always says they will, or the person who actually did it? If you’re in the second group, Edelbrock Sick 66 is the event you need to be at, whether you are racing or joining the event as one of our many cruisers.

Remember, you don’t have to race to be a part of the event. You can cruise ANY car you like, whether it’s a classic or a grocery getter. To do that, become a part of the Sick Ward Cruisers, where you’ll get spectator entry into each race day, a window banner, an event shirt, and get to be an official part of the event.

Sick 66 combines drag and drive with the 100th year celebration of Route 66, Sept 26th - Oct 3rd, 2026, and we couldn't do it without Edelbrock Performance!

Edelbrock was a big part of our first Sick 66 in 2024, where we traveled south for 8 days from our Missouri starting point in 2024.

It was such a blast, we're doing it a second time! But for the 2026 edition, we're doing the northern side of Route 66.

We'll be joined by hundreds of rides between competitors, and our Sick Ward enthusiasts, and it's likely that most of them will have Edelbrock Performance parts!

With nearly 90 years of performance heritage, Edelbrock has been a part of both the automotive and racing worlds that has shaped our history.
