✅️What WIP does and does not allow!❌️
Last night, I received a series of hostile and verbally abusive Facebook messages from someone I had not experienced this type of interaction with since 2022. Unfortunately, the communication continued again early this morning.
The situation appears to have started over a claim made by this individual that three female tournament directors were told they could not participate in the Women in Pool vodcast because of their friendship or association with her. This is simply not true. In fact, just yesterday afternoon, we welcomed someone onto the vodcast who is sponsored by this same individual.
Because this allegation has been made, I would sincerely like to know who these three female tournament directors are so I can address the matter directly and clarify exactly what was said.
Women in Pool was created to give women a voice, create opportunities, encourage meaningful conversation, and build one another up. We welcome women with different friendships, opinions, backgrounds, and perspectives.
What we do not support is behavior that tears other women down. Women in Pool cannot support or provide a platform for women who engage in harassment, bullying, personal attacks, or the spreading of false or damaging information about other women.
Supporting women does not mean accepting harmful behavior simply because it comes from another woman. Respect, professionalism, accountability, and kindness matter.
I will always welcome respectful conversation and constructive disagreement. What I will not accept is bullying, harassment, or false claims being used to attack me, another woman, or the work Women in Pool is trying to build.
Women supporting women should not simply be something we say. It should be something we practice.
