This is Pepper. She is one of the young pups from our Brandy X Dan litter whelped last December. She was out in Nebraska on opening day and performed well, getting her first wild birds on her first day of wild bird hunting. Thank You Jeff and Beth Setmayer for giving Pepper the chance to do what she was bred to do!

My youngster Amie getting a little bird work in this morning. Dan x Brandy daughter. She has a good nose and has no problem finding birds. Working on her steadiness after the point. Today was the first time she has held solid all the way through the flush. She’s starting to figure it out. 🙂

Maggie May got her turn at a little obedience and pigeon work this morning. Love the way this little lady works then snaps into her points when she smells those birds. Hoping her tail comes up a little more once she gets really confident with what she’s doing.

Got Amie out for a little obedience and pigeon work. A very nice cool morning to get some work in. Just her third time on birds. Thought she did well. Still working on her confidence, but she locked up on each bird when she smelled them. Learning to be steady. She seems to figure things out pretty quickly. Isn’t she a beauty?

Brandy and I participated in the Indiana Region NSTRA trial at Glenns Valley this past weekend. It was a hot one for sure! Saturday was fairly uneventful but she did have a nice run in the afternoon, just not good enough for a placement.
On Sunday she had two really nice runs. Both runs with 4 finds and 4 retrieves. Her A field run score held up and she finished in second place in the Open Division. Slowly working her way toward a Open Championship. Proud of my girl!

Amie learning to find the birds then be steady. Only her second time on pigeons. She is a Dan x Brandy daughter that we whelped here in December. Anxious to see how she comes along. So far we are getting great reports on all of her littermates. Feeling good about the potential of this litter! Considering doing the same breeding again this fall.

Finally got Brandy’s latest hardware hung up in the office. This was the trial she won her 2x NSTRA Amateur Championship.
Her DNA profile showed up today as well. If I remember correctly, it was submitted in November 2025.
