Would be living quite a different life without these men’s influence on me. Boards, business, life lessons, Hawaii.
Brewer through Jack Reeves and learning the classic shapes, Lon as my work neighbor for 17 years and his support with my growth and business, Ivan’s friendship and belief in me putting my flag in the ground on the north shore and his incredible shaping and craftsman skills, and Larry freaking Petersen with surfboards being built well all the way through, his work ethic, and giving me a chance even though I’m a stubborn ass dude always trying to reinvent the wheel.
I’m sure many of you know the icon Dick Brewer, these other guys are and were Legends behind the scene in my life and the lives of many others. Such a cool photo with them all together. If I could have 1/10th of the influence on just one person, then I’d feel pretty damn good about myself.

Officially welcoming Aaron to the TEAM to represent Sparrow Surfboards! Aaron is a friend I met through the Eveland family on the North Shore over a decade ago when I used to live at the Gas Chambers A-frame. This model he’s been riding for 9 years with very slight adjustments. Currently we have gone to EPS Epoxy for his last 2 boards and now we’ve bumped up the volume an eighth of an inch.
Aaron’s surfing leaves much to be admired and seeing him do his thing in the water is something special. His character and what he represents in the NS community and as a father is beyond admirable. We’re looking to support good people who happen to be talented surfers in the NS community. Our team riders are few and far between and there are many reasons we keep it that way, but above all else, all of them have great character and that’s what we’re looking to support. Officer Eveland go shred!! 🤙

11 years ago, when it was just me and a dog, and a dream that wouldn’t relent.

Dax at age 2, still learning his Sugarmill boundaries with the shock collar. Me, was glassing my boards upstairs at JC’s . Dax and I were probably living in a shipping container shaping room around the corner from this spot at this time, in order to save up for upgrades to the shaping machine I owned with Pyzel .

I just purchased said shipping container last week to build into a new glass shop.
I get little glimpses and moments of this guy and it’s so unreal to think back at the times we had and all we went through. DAX, a year has passed and still the world turns.
What an amazing dog and companion he was ✊
