In our culture, we really don’t care about what brand of yoga pants you’re wearing, or how good your handstand is. We care about pushing your endurance to new limits and challenging you to become the best version of yourself. Yoga isn’t about putting your body in funky positions, it’s about concentrating your mind, flexibility, working on personal strength (inner and outer) and finding peace in this crazy world.

We’re praying for one of our Yoga8 family members who has been gone for entirely too long. 😂 And by too long, we mean a few days, because when someone is normally at Yoga8 two or three times a day, we notice when she’s missing.

But I guess we’ll allow it since WENDY IS IN FRANCE GETTING READY TO RACE THE IRONMAN 70.3 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!!! 🇫🇷❤️

WENDY!!! We love you, we’re cheering for you, and we are SO incredibly excited for you!

You’ve trained for this. You’ve put in the work. Now go enjoy every single second of what you earned.

We’re praying for a strong, healthy, AMAZING race and for you to soak it all in and have the best time out there.

😳Fun Fact that I’m not proud of 🥹: I use to be a fighter. Like a legit ticking time bomb. If you got in my way we were fighting. Not fighting with words but we are throwing fists. As a matter of fact; I was red carded and kicked out of my very last soccer game of my college career because of fighting. ⁣Not my finest moments and tend to carry a lot of shame because of this dis-regulation.

❤️Fast forward to today! I CANNOT imagine ever laying a hand on anyone. I couldn’t do it. Even if you laid hands on me. The practice of yoga allowed me to identify why I did the things I did and helped me correct my patterns that created this anger and frustration. It has given me the gift of empathy, support, and love. ⁣

Let’s Rally Around Rachel ❤️

Our goal is simple: to raise as much money as we can to support our beloved Yoga8 instructor, friend, and sister, Rachel Velasco, as she courageously walks through treatment for lymphoma.

Many of you know Rachel as the calm, compassionate presence who has poured so much love into our community. Earlier this year, after months of monitoring, Rachel began chemotherapy following the growth of her lymphoma. Alongside treatment, she continues to battle Small Fiber Neuropathy and the overwhelming fatigue that comes with both conditions. To help cover the cost of her medical care, she’s currently working two jobs while continuing to fight with incredible grace and strength.

We want to lighten that burden.

On Saturday, August 8, we’re hosting The Art of Rest, a special two-hour restorative yoga experience led by four of Yoga8’s 500-hour teachers. This practice is our gift back to someone who has given so much to others.

✨ Minimum donation: $40
✨ 100% of every dollar goes directly to Rachel
✨ If you’re able, we encourage you to give beyond the minimum. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference.
