Summer is right around the corner and it’s so easy for it to sneak up and pass us by without a moment of acknowledgment. That’s why we’re celebrating the shift into summer on the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year!
Together, we’ll move through 108 Sun Salutations (Surya Namasakar) in a moving meditation to honor the sun’s power and our own inner light.
The number 108 is sacred across astronomy, mathematics, and the ancient texts of yoga. The distance between the Earth and the Sun is 108 times the Sun’s diameter, the distance between the Earth and the Moon is 108 times the Moon’s diameter, there are 108 nadis converging at the heart chakra, and in the number itself, 1 is the singular, 0 is the void, and 8 is the infinite.
Also — stud10 8 — it’s hidden in our name.
Now you know why it’s on our hoodie design 😎
