The Texas Mile has grown rapidly since our inaugural event in October 2003. Participants come from all edges of the United States, Canada and Mexico to test themselves and their motorized equipment on the fastest and most challenging 1-mile track in the world. They achieve their top speed in 1-Mile and shut down in a 1/2-Mile. This bi-annual Motorsports Festival is created for performance enthusiast - Welcoming Motorcycles, Performance Street Cars, Race Cars and Land Speed Racers. Spectators enjoy seeing the cars and motorcycles on the track and visiting with the participants in the paddock. For more details, see the rules and regulations section for participants and spectators. It is like running on a straight 1 1/2 mile section of open highway without the fear of tickets and jail time. A High Speed Shoot-out and Land Speed Racing Venue that compares to the likes of the legendary Bonneville that beckons one to "Drive in Your World, Race in Ours"!

FOUR YEARS IN THE MAKING. 201.9 MPH. DREAM ACHIEVED!
Big congratulations to Jonathon Talley on joining the 200MPH Club!

This 2003 Ford SVT Mustang Cobra has been a family car since day one. Originally purchased brand-new by Jonathon’s uncle, it eventually passed down to him, where the chase for 200 MPH began.

At the October 2023 Texas Mile, he hit 178.5 MPH. After upgrading to a Whipple Gen 5 3.0L supercharger, he came back chasing 200. In 2025, after TWO failed alternators, he narrowly missed the mark at 199.1 MPH. 😳

He returned for the 2026 event, and of course, the car had other plans. A shredded blower belt, a wrench lodged between the fan and radiator, and a last-minute radiator repair later, he was back on the track.

Sunday morning, first pass: 201.9 MPH! 💨🔥

Four years of chasing the dream, countless setbacks, and a whole lot of determination. This is what the Texas Mile is all about! 🏆

This 2024 Cayman S hit 166.7MPH in the mile. Isn’t she a beaut? Piloted by Larry Copeland🏎️💨

Huge congratulations to Pierce Marshall and his crew on an absolutely WILD run! He just hit 273.1MPH in his 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon.

This is now the 2nd fastest speed overall at this event in Beeville beating the long-time record by Eddie Presnull of 265MPH, held since October 2024.

That’s next-level speed, serious horsepower, and one heck of a team behind the wheel! 💪🔥
