Congratulations Maria!
Our second senior candidate is Maria Parrish, daughter of Ryan and Katie Parrish. Maria is active in the National Honor Society, Student Council, Service Pack, and FCCLA. She is a Junior Rotarian, a member of the Junior Leadership Academy, and the WBL Sportsmanship Committee, and has earned Renaissance gold cards each year. Maria also participates in volleyball and softball where she has earned two varsity letters thus far. She has also earned
scholar-athlete awards each year. Maria attends LifeHouse Church, is a member of the youth group, and leads a group of 5th-grade girls. Maria also participates in the CEO program where she works with the City Law Director’s office and Wassenberg Art Center. In her spare time, Maria enjoys raising pigs for 4-H, painting, hanging out with friends and family, and supporting her peers at athletic events. Maria works for CJ’s Shaved Ice and commissions art projects. Maria plans to attend college, majoring in psychology and minoring in political science,
with plans to attend law school after earning her undergraduate degree.
Escorting Maria is senior attendant Carter Wright, son of Tony and Amanda Wright. Carter is a member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Spanish Club, and Service Pack. He is also a Junior Rotarian
and attended Buckeye Boys State this past summer. Carter is a gold Renaissance card holder and works at Van Wert Hospital and Van Wert Family Physicians through the CEO program. Carter is also on the golf team, where he has earned two varsity letters thus far and is a four-time scholar-athlete. In his free time, he enjoys playing pickleball, hanging out with friends, listening to music, and watching Ohio State football. He also works at Hickory Sticks Golf
Course, and attends church and youth group locally. Upon graduation, Carter plans to attend college, majoring in nursing, and then attend medical school to be an anesthesiologist.
