Fri: Stunt Clinic #2 with Level Up! Girls reported an hour early per Lindahl’s logistical typo… but she apologized with Starbucks + the team prepped collegiality pins for UCA.

Sat: Senior Halaina took advantage of the Brigata College Cheer Combine in Lincoln!

DCWC3 Weekly Wrap: Aww… Maycember { 7-10 of 52 }

DCWC takes very few breaks, but we all relish the pause from pre-Graduation Friday - first Tuesday in June reset. We squeeze our traditional week 7 then the squad pauses to celebrate seniors, their mamas, finish spring semester strong + rejuvenate over Memorial Day Weekend before kicking off the summer strength + conditioning program. Many families maximized the eleven days between school ending + DCWC’s first June practice for a well-deserved vacation as well.

We enjoyed our Maycember + hope you all did too! Here is a collection of our highlights because even when we aren’t “in session”, our athletes are still making milestone moves!

May 4th: Literally brought concessions to the stands. ⚾️

May 6th: Elementary Field Day with upper grades! 🛝

May 7th: Our PTSA generously donated $500.00! 🤲

May 9th - June 1st: Learn Band Dances independently. 🪩

May 11th: Track+Field for Hannah, Jetta + Makayla ended.🏃🏼‍♀️

May 12th: Grad for seniors Bailey, Bella, Jetta + Maren—
Plus, COACH MOLLY BECAME A MASTER! 🎓

May 21st: Spring semester ends with many accolades:
🤍 12 athletes earned 4.0+ this semester!
🌟 7 athletes are Top 10% in their class!
👯‍♀️ Sophomores’ average GPA is 4.23! 🤯

May 26th: Hannah, Jocelyn, Kate + Kenzie nominated to serve as summer Strength + Conditioning Captains!🏋🏻‍♀️

May 29th: Lillian served as a staff leader at HOBY!

Treasurer Spellerberg today met with the Cornhusker Girls State Treasurer's team, comprised of Gauri Majr (Millard North High School), Mackenzie Hergott (Thayer Central), Lillian Lakner (DC West), and Avery Nordhues (Lincoln East).

Special thanks to the American Legion Auxiliary for your work to help prepare our next generation of leaders.

Thank you for having us, Don + Melissa of Valley Lakes Assisted Living! We’d love to make this Chant Check performance an annual event!

The girls opened + closed with the Falcon Fight Song then responded in time to cheer calls by Coach. Each cheerleader performed ten chants or cheers on the fly to “check” their memorization + performance ability out of the 40ish memorized.

We enjoyed learning which guests have been living around Valley, which were high school sweethearts + which were stand out athletes in their high school years!

Mon: Collaborative conversation with dance team on sideline show for fall football!🏈

Tues: Varsity purchases have started to arrive!📦

Wed: Rehearsal for our Chant Check performance including Saguaro 🌵 acrochallenge followed by Student Council’s Honors Night where our junior Lillian presented + sophomores Alea + Jocelyn were inducted into the National Honor Society!

Thur: Wrapped our Spring into the Season Calendar Fundraiser to help fund our two Level Up stunt clinics, regional competition costs, squad sweatshirts + sneakers!👟

Fri: Happy Birthday, Abi! Chant Check at Valley Lakes Assisted Living is twofold: connect with community + be performance ready! 📣

Sat: Happy Birthday, Hannah! She spent her day running a Personal Best at the Capitol Conference Track Meet in the 800m!🏃🏼‍♀️💨

Fri: Flying Friday with new skills + mini pyramids!🦅

Sat: Small group committee meetings to get communications in check, squad to plan future bondings, fundraisers to prepare for the Gatorade scrimmage + logistics to update our schedules!

Wed: False-alarm weather moved practice virtually—already preparing to lead Falcon Nation at fall events!🌪️

Thur: Updates to our Cheer List in preparation for the May 1st Chant Check at Valley Lakes Assisted Living.

Fri: No school = No DCWC… but the squad still made a showing with the stickers of encouragement on staff coffee cups for PD Breakfast courtesy of DC West PTSA + Scooter's Coffee Valley!
