D1 Fall Premier Showcase:
One thing you will NEVER have to question about these 12 girls is their willingness to compete. Put a challenge in front of them, and they will show up. Put them against older, bigger, stronger 12U competition, and they won’t back down. They may get knocked down, they may stumble, but they will ALWAYS get back up and fight.
Sometimes, I think we as adults get so caught up in the wins, losses, trophies, and tournament championships that we lose sight of what success really looks like.
We convince ourselves that if we aren’t standing there holding the championship trophy on Sunday, somehow we’ve fallen short.
But what if the biggest victories are happening long before we ever lift that trophy?
What if success is a group of 11-year-old girls learning how to handle adversity? Learning how to compete when the odds are stacked against them? Learning how to pick up a teammate after a mistake instead of putting their heads down?
What if these difficult weekends, heartbreaking losses, and uncomfortable moments are exactly what these girls NEED to become everything we know they’re capable of becoming?
Because growth isn’t always pretty. Progress isn’t always measured in wins. And the road to something special was never supposed to be easy.
We could take the easier road. We could chase trophies every weekend, protect a record, and celebrate victories that never truly push us outside our comfort zone.
But that’s not the vision.
The vision is BIGGER than one tournament, one weekend, or one season.
It’s about preparing these girls for the moments when the lights shine brightest, the competition is at its toughest, and everything they’ve sacrificed and worked for is put to the test.
And make no mistake, there WILL be growing pains. There will be tears, frustration, mistakes, and moments when we question whether we’re making progress.
That’s part of it.
These are still kids. Twelve young girls with enormous hearts, big dreams, and a whole lot of growing left to do. They deserve our patience, our encouragement, and most importantly, our belief in them.
Our job as adults isn’t to demand perfection. It’s to help them discover what they’re capable of becoming.
I believe in this group. I believe in their hearts. I believe in their fight. And I believe that every difficult inning, every tough opponent, and every lesson learned is building something that will be worth every ounce of the struggle.
One day, when it REALLY counts, when the stakes are higher and the moment is bigger, these girls are going to look around that field and realize they’ve already been through the fire together.
And when that moment comes…
WATCH THESE 12 GIRLS SHOW UP FOR EACH OTHER!!
Not because the road was easy. Not because someone handed them anything. But because they earned it. TOGETHER.
So we’re going to keep showing up. Keep challenging ourselves. Keep taking our lumps. Keep learning. Keep believing. And most importantly, keep fighting for the girl standing next to us.
The trophies will come. But the character, toughness, resilience, and sisterhood we’re building along the way?
THAT’S WHAT WILL MAKE THIS GROUP SPECIAL.
We’re not building a team to win one weekend.
WE’RE BUILDING A TEAM THAT WILL BE READY WHEN IT MATTERS MOST.
