Recently I read The Immortal Mind. It is full of interesting testimony of the inner working of the brain. See the link below. I also recently found an article that caught my attention so I thought I would share. Here is a quick quote: Research is now emerging to back this up, with scientists surprised to discover communication leaping between neurons in the brain, even across regions that had been surgically severed. I will leave the link in the comments. This article lead to some other articles as well so more to come if I find anything interesting.

Many scientists and doctors believe that there is no such thing as the soul. That there is no part of us that persists beyond death. We are not spiritual in any respect. We are made up of cells and tissue, and completely controlled by a material organ in our heads: the brain. In this groundbr...

Excited to have finished Trauma Recovery through Somatic Yoga course. Biggest takeaway was new breathwork techniques. Next up: Movement Therapist certification. I’m already excited about the neuroscience section.

Did you know the tongue and voice connect to the pelvic floor via fascia? Say the hard “g” sounds as in gorilla and see what you feel in your body. It might help to lie down and do some breathwork before you try it.

I just completed a certificate with Tom Myers who wrote Anatomy Trains. Fascia continues to cause me wonder and awe.
Did you know…. Fascia forms 15 days after conception as one chain. Myers likened it to origami as it folds and unfolds on itself until the final part is formed. The cleft of the upper palette. Our entire fascia system is connected. So fascinating.

I found this video and thought I would share. It might be worth a try. I struggle with claims of root causes since the body is layered in its ability to adapt. That being said, I talk with my clients regularly about what to do regarding a shallow breath, a head drawing forward, etc. and we walk through a breath work process to aid the body and talk about the tight muscles. I hope you find this helpful.

On a personal note: I am a mother of 5. Today is my second son's birthday. He would have been 24 today. He died of brain cancer when he was eight. The grief is in my body. I can feel it in my shoulders and neck today. The beauty that comes out of my pain is what I give to my clients. I forget that connection at times. This week I was reminded of it as I worked on my clients. It was my clients' gift to me. Grief and gratitude blend to create a beautiful moment. Thank you to all my clients who shared themselves with me this week.

Did you know that fascia, your body's connective tissue, transmits neurochemicals like seratonin and dopamine? Yes, it is true.

I have taught so many people how to make kombucha. My kids and I drink it regularly. I share it often with my friends and answer troubleshooting questions with those I’ve helped get started. Here are a series of videos of my process. Feel free to ask questions or make recommendations. I love experimenting! My most successful experiment is a chocolate kombucha made with a chocolate tea. My mouth waters thinking about it!

Recipe:
2 gallons water
4 T. Green tea
6 T. Oolong
2 c. Sugar
Scale recipe as desired.

Steep tea 5 minutes stirring tea bag half way. Let tea cool to room temperature before adding it to the scoby. SCOBY: symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast

Let it ferment 2-4 days depending on weather and taste preference. Bottle and drink OG or add juice or fruit and let ferment 5-7 days depending on taste preference. Ferment is a dark, warm location. Enjoy!
