This Rawlings PROR314-2RW wasn't in rough shape, and that's exactly the point. Fresh teal lace, clean and condition, and new palm adhesive keep it looking and playing like new.

Sweat and dirt left in the leather pull out its oils and break down the fibers over time. That's how sweat rot starts. Catch it early with regular upkeep, and you're relacing a glove instead of replacing leather.

Suds are buds when it comes to dirt. A little soap and a quick wipe just moves it around. The real cleaner is elbow grease.

Every panel, welt, binding, and handstall gets cleaned thoroughly, releasing the sweat and dirt that break down the leather.

Wilson P12 cleaned, conditioned with our in-house products, fresh palm adhesive, and relaced back in black.

This custom Mizuno came in for a relace. Notice the bow in the web? Those laces were left alone and stretched under repeated impact.

The finger laces were tightened over and over to keep the players preferred shape. That took the lace past its stretch limit, and once lace can't give, the stress moves into the shell. Swipe to the last slide to see the stressed holes on the palm side of the index finger.

Proper tension isn't the tightest. It holds the shape and leaves enough give for the lace to take the load, not the leather.

Torn web and a blown-out crotch on a Wilson A500 catcher's mitt.
We talked about a new mitt. But this is the one his favorite player wants to use, and that settles it.
So we rebuilt the crotch and cut a brand-new web out of Horween. Cleaned, conditioned, relaced in blue.
