Mr. Hunter Smith

We are so proud of Mr. Hunter Smith!

Hunter is truly one of a kind. His cheerful personality, kind heart, and positive attitude brighten every room he walks into. He is caring, patient, and always understanding, especially when things don't always go as planned.

Recently, Hunter had to wait longer than expected for his new belt to arrive. While waiting can be difficult, he showed incredible patience, maturity, and perseverance throughout the entire process. His ability to remain positive and understanding is a great example for everyone around him.

After the long wait, Hunter finally received his new belt, and it was well deserved! We are proud not only of his martial arts achievements but also of the character he demonstrates every day. His kindness, patience, and determination embody the true spirit of Songahm Martial Arts.

Congratulations, Hunter! Keep smiling, keep inspiring others, and keep being the amazing young man that you are. We are honored to have you as part of our martial arts family.

And of course, thank you, Hunter, for showing mercy and not firing the "old lady in the office" while you were waiting for your belt!

Today at Songahm Martial Arts, we had a little fun on this beautiful, hot Tuesday!

We kicked off our day with Mr. Sebastian, Brilyn, and myself heading to Grand Slam for some fun. We started with an hour of bowling, where everyone had a great time cheering each other on and enjoying some friendly competition. After bowling, the boys each got to play a couple of games in the arcade, adding even more excitement to our adventure.

Once we returned, Sebastian spent some time working on his form, with Brilyn stepping up to help and encourage him along the way. It was great to see teamwork, leadership, and friendship in action. We wrapped up the day by relaxing and watching a movie together.

Today was truly a blessed day filled with smiles, laughter, learning, and memories. We are thankful for the opportunity to spend time together and enjoy these special moments.

Tomorrow, the fun continues as we head out for a swimming day! We can't wait to make more memories together.

Here's a Songahm Martial Arts prayer you can share with ATA students, instructors, and families traveling to District Championships 2026:

Songahm District Championships 2026 Prayer
Heavenly Father,

As we prepare to travel and compete at the 2026 District Championships, we come before You with grateful hearts.

Thank You for the opportunity to train, grow, and be part of the Songahm Martial Arts family. Thank You for every instructor who has dedicated their time, every student who has worked tirelessly toward their goals, and every family member who has supported this journey.

Lord, we ask for Your protection over every vehicle, every road, and every traveler making their way to this event. Keep us safe in our travels and bring us together in good health and good spirits.

As we step onto the mats, help us to remember the values we have learned through Songahm Taekwondo: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit. Let us compete with honor, humility, and respect for one another.
Give our students confidence in the skills they have practiced, courage to face challenges, and peace in moments of nervousness. Help them understand that true success is not measured only by trophies or medals, but by the character they display and the effort they give.

Bless our instructors with wisdom, patience, and pride as they guide their students. Strengthen the friendships and bonds that make our martial arts family so special.
Whether we win or lose, may we represent our schools, our communities, and the Songahm spirit with excellence. Help us encourage one another, celebrate each other's achievements, and learn from every experience.

May this championship be filled with growth, sportsmanship, safety, and unforgettable memories.

In Your name we pray,
Amen.

Wishing all ATA students, instructors, judges, and families a safe trip and an amazing experience at the 2026 District Championships. Train hard, compete with honor, and let your Songahm spirit shine. πŸ₯‹πŸ†πŸ™

Here are the final photos of all the students who participated in our June 1, 2026 Belt Test!
Congratulations to each and every one of you. We are incredibly proud of your dedication, perseverance, and the determination you showed throughout your testing journey.

Stepping onto the mat to test takes courage. From performing your forms, demonstrating your one-steps, and participating in sparring and combat sparring, each of you faced challenges and pushed beyond your comfort zone. Every belt test is an opportunity for growth, and it was inspiring to see the confidence, focus, and improvement displayed by all of our students.

Remember, earning a new belt is not just about the rank around your waistβ€”it's about the character, discipline, and resilience you build along the way.

Thank you for your hard work and for representing our school with such pride. We are honored to be part of your martial arts journey and look forward to seeing all that you accomplish in the future.

Congratulations again on a successful belt test! We are proud of every one of you! πŸ‘πŸ₯‹πŸ”₯

πŸ₯‹ Black Belt Test Spotlight – Ms. Claire Smith πŸ₯‹

Next up was Ms. Claire Smith, who continued her black belt testing journey with one of the most physically and mentally demanding portions of the test: traditional sparring.
During this phase, Claire faced her peers one after another, with the intensity gradually increasing from light contact to hard contact. There were no easy rounds. As opponents continuously rotated in, she was challenged to adapt, stay focused, and keep pushing forward.

This part of the test is about much more than fighting. It tests breathing control, discipline, mental toughness, and the ability to perform under pressure while exhausted. By this point in the test, Claire was already hot and tired, yet she continued to stand strong and face every challenge placed before her.

Her peers pushed her to dig deeper, encouraging her to fight through the fatigue and demonstrate the spirit expected of a future black belt. Through it all, Claire maintained her composure, determination, and warrior mindset.

Claire held on, persevered, and did an outstanding job. Her effort, heart, and determination were on full display, and she should be extremely proud of what she accomplished during this challenging portion of her black belt test.

πŸ‘ Congratulations, Ms. Claire Smith! Keep pushing forward and embodying the true spirit of Songahm Taekwondo.
