Texas Power Couple!

Shoutout and for taking on the Fresh 15k, one of the most competitive road races in Texas. Claire took 3rd and Brandon took 6th, clearly having a blast along the way.

Nice little appetizer for Outdoor season and some cash for Claire!

Nice work y’all 🤠

🥇 Cassidy Heaton is your Myrtle Beach Marathon Champion!

On a hot and foggy day, Cass raced patiently and executed the plan to perfection. She hung back in the chase pack, running even splits until they caught the sole leader at 10. By 18 it was down to two. Savannah made a hard move but Cass stayed composed, reeled her back, and went on to win!

Great job Cass and hats off to Savannah Peppenhorst for being a great competitor and making it a heck of a race!

RAILROAD WOMEN OWN THE SWAMP RABBIT HALF 🚂🐇

🥇: .galarza 71:29 (PR, CR)
🥉: 75:53 (PR)
4th: 75:58 (Debut)
5th: 76:02 (PR)
8th: 76:58

For the 3rd year in a row, a RR woman wins the Swamp Rabbit Half and Liz did it by setting a new course, team, and personal record. Meanwhile several of our OTQ-chasing ladies showed the progress they’ve been making in training. Big day!

Especially exciting was the team debut of Katy Earwood! A college teammate of Liz’s, Katy crushed her first ever half and we’re so glad to have her on the team!

Great job ladies!

🥇AUSTIN HALF CHAMP 🏆

A last minute decision to jump in the Austin Half pays off for Griffin Neal. He takes the dub in his Half Marathon debut.

Despite a wrong turn towards the full marathon course, Griffin found his way back on track and still managed to win by about a minute in 66:01 (5:02/mi).

Griffin’s next race will be the TEN on March 28 by

Maybe next time he’ll pin his bin correctly.

Fun lil Relay Race for our NC CREW!

Shoutout for finding and setting up our team to race ‘s inaugural To***co Road Relay race.

Gabbie found the race, roped in her partner-in-crime .galarza , called up former Triangle legend to road trip down from med school at Louisville and roped in two more local guys to complete the team.

Railroad’s mixed gender team was in 2nd overall behind an all-male team before our 5th leg got lost in the woods without a phone 🤣 Luckily everyone is ok and came home with a great story to tell.

Choo choo! 🚂

Running isn’t always easy. We believe the best athletes and coaches show their mettle and integrity when things don’t go according to plan.

On that note, Where is Allen Sumrall? (The following is shared with his permission)

In 2023, he represented Railroad at 2 US Championships but you haven’t seen much of him since. Some ( ) have asked where he’s been?

In late 2023, he started experiencing chronic stomach issues. At worst, he was vomiting right after waking up and cramps were interrupting sleep. He consulted doctors and dietitians but there is still no clear answer. He’s made a lot of progress but he’s not yet his old self.

At Railroad, we believe in standing by our athletes when struggles happen. That’s life. You are more than your performances and PRs, while fun, aren’t necessary to being a valuable teammate.

We believe that Allen can run even better than he did before. But even if he doesn’t, that’s okay. We’re proud to have him on the team and will keep working hard alongside him, even if he’s not making US champs every year.

Another 🇺🇸 Champs in the books!

Congrats to and for repping Railroad at the USA XC Champs in Portland last weekend. Special shoutout to .janke for coming out to support and Coach for putting it all together 🙌

It wasn’t our day out there, but amazing to see so many great US athletes come together for such a competitive field. Great day for the sport!

Onwards to track season 🔜

1️⃣ Year w/ RAILROAD ATHLETICS for team record-holder and OTQ athlete, Amanda Mosborg 🚂

“It’s been a good (maybe even life changing) year!

“From high school to D3 to D1, I’ve always taken my “leveling up” in the sport with caution. I’ve never wanted to jump into anything that was too much, too soon - or that felt like the wrong kind of pressure for where I was at. I’ve tried to follow my gut. That instinct has led me to: some incredible coaches, teammates, and cultures…including to Railroad this year!

“After taking a few years post-college to do mostly base running - staying fit, having fun, and finding a community of runners in the Twin Cities - I was ready to jump back in to trying to be the best I can be. What Railroad - and coach Hayden’s training - allows me to do is train smarter while balancing my job, relationship, friends, family, and travel…(I went to Tanzania! I did a trail relay race in Montana!)

“Moderate mileage and workouts (with limited pace guidance) paired with consistent drills, strides, lifting, and calls with coach - have helped be improve incrementally and sustainably.

“Railroad adapts to my life, so I can adapt to the training. Grateful to be running joyful going into 2026!”
