Congratulations to Dean Vomacka, PGA, on winning the 2026 Southwest PGA Senior Championship/PPC at Camelback Golf Club! 🏆

Dean, PGA Director of Instruction at Omni Tucson National Resort, closed with a final-round 5-under to finish at 5-under par, 139, for the title and punches his ticket to the 38th PGA Senior Professional Championship this October at Superstition Mountain Country Club.

Congratulations to David Rauer on capturing the Southern Arizona Chapter PGA Match Play Championship! 🏆

Round 1 began Wednesday and there were great matches and hard-fought battles throughout the tournament, but David continued to advance and earned his way into the final match. With the championship coming down to the very end, David sealed the victory on the 18th hole to claim one of the Southern Arizona Chapter’s Major Championships.

A huge thank you to Randolph Golf Complex, Host PGA Professional Brett Gilmore, and the entire Randolph staff for their hospitality and for providing a great championship venue.

Thank you as well to all of our PGA Professionals who competed and helped make this year’s Match Play Championship such a great event. The level of competition throughout the bracket was a great showcase of the talented and hard working PGA Professionals we have here in Southern Arizona.

Today we’re recognizing our Southern Arizona Chapter President, Landyn Lewis, PGA.

As Director of Player Development for the Tucson Golf Program, Landyn has dedicated his career to making golf more welcoming and accessible for everyone, from introducing beginners to the game to helping hundreds of juniors and families discover a lifelong passion for golf. His leadership extends beyond the course as he continues to serve our Chapter and help grow the game throughout Southern Arizona.

These photos with his son, Amari, are a reminder of what it’s all about: creating memories, inspiring the next generation, and sharing a game of a lifetime.

Congratulations to Reece Nilsen of Quail Creek Country Club on capturing the 2026 Southern Arizona Chapter Pro Series #5 at Oro Valley Country Club with a solid round of 71 (-1).

Congratulations as well to Mike Russell, PGA, Director of Golf at The Gallery Golf Club, on winning the Senior Series with an impressive 69 (-3).

It was a great day for the left-handers, as both divisions were won by southpaws. ⛳

A special thank you to our host professional and Head Golf Professional, Nick Conway, at Oro Valley Country Club, along with the entire OVCC team for their hospitality and for hosting another exceptional Southern Arizona Chapter event.

We had a blast at our very first Southern Arizona Chapter PGA Indoor Social Skins Game! ⛳️

A special thank you to Oasis Golf Club & Lounge for welcoming our PGA Professionals and providing a fun setting for everyone to connect and compete.

We also appreciate PHX Beer Co. for joining us and bringing out Long Drive Lager for our participants to sample, along with some awesome gear and giveaways! 🍻

Congratulations to Dean Vomacka, PGA of Omni Tucson National Resort, on capturing the 2026 Southern Arizona Chapter Pro Series at The Gallery Golf Club with an outstanding two-day total of 135 (-9). Dean opened with a brilliant 66 (-6) on the North Course before closing with a 69 (-3) on the South Course, holding off a tightly contested leaderboard to earn the victory.

Congratulations as well to Rich Elias, PGA Life Member, on winning the Senior Series after posting great rounds of 68 (-4) and 73 (+1) for a two-day total of 141 (-3).

Thirty PGA Professionals competed over two days in challenging conditions, battling humid weather and lightning delays during the opening round before taking on both of The Gallery’s championship layouts. Competitors played the North Course on day one before finishing on the South Course for the final round.

A special thank you to our host professionals, Director of Golf, Mike Russell, PGA, and First Assistant, Jared Rogers, along with the entire team at The Gallery Golf Club for their hospitality and for hosting another exceptional Southern Arizona Chapter event.

Congratulations to Dean Vomacka, PGA of Omni Tucson National Resort on capturing the 2026 Southern Arizona Chapter Senior Championship at Tubac Golf Resort & Spa after an exciting two-hole playoff.

Dean put together an outstanding two-day performance with rounds of 67-68 (135, 9-under par). His championship was highlighted by 13 birdies over the 36-hole competition.

Congratulations as well to Mike Russell, PGA of The Gallery Golf Club, who matched Dean at 9-under par to force the playoff and provided a thrilling finish to one of the Southern Arizona Chapter’s premier Major Championships.

A special thank you to Martin Bringas and Green Valley Automotive for their partnership in helping increase the professional purse for this championship. Their support continues to elevate our events and provide added value for our PGA Professionals.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Kristie Fowler, PGA, our Host Professional, along with the entire team at Tubac Golf Resort & Spa for their outstanding hospitality and for hosting the championship for our Chapter.

The Southern Arizona Chapter PGA is incredibly proud of Chris Dompier, PGA, and everything he accomplished this week at the U.S. Senior Open Championship!

Competing at Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio, Chris took on a demanding championship setup. The firm conditions, lightning-fast greens, and penal rough provided a true test and showcased the best senior players in the world.

Beyond his play, Chris continues to represent with professionalism and humility. He is an outstanding role model for his students, fellow PGA Professionals, and everyone fortunate enough to know him. Watching one of our own compete on one of golf’s biggest stages is something our entire Chapter can celebrate.

Congratulations to Chris and the entire Dompier family on an incredible week representing the Southern Arizona Chapter and Southwest Section PGA.

That’s a wrap on the 2026 Southwest PGA Junior Prep Tour in Southern Arizona!

A huge congratulations to all of the junior golfers who participated throughout this year’s Prep Tour season. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for all of you!

A special thank you to The Views Golf Club for hosting our final event of the season, and to all of our host facilities throughout the series for opening your courses and supporting junior golf in Southern Arizona.

We also want to recognize our incredible PGA Professionals, volunteers, rules officials, and everyone behind the scenes who donated their time and energy to make each tournament a success. These events wouldn’t be possible without your commitment to growing the game.
