Well…here it is.
I’ve been diagnosed with MDS.
This has completely blindsided me. One moment, i was just going to work normally, the very next moment, you’re struggling to survive.
This disease was found and pushed to the front of my life because of influenza.
Myelodysplastic Syndrome is A group of disorders caused when something disrupts the production of blood cells.
Some types have no known cause. Others occur in response to cancer treatments or chemical exposure.
Symptoms may include shortness of breath, fatigue, easy bruising, and paleness.
Myelodysplastic syndrome may progress to leukemia. Transfusions and medications help manage symptoms. Medications or bone marrow transplants may lessen transfusion needs and slow or prevent progression to leukemia.
Treatment depends on the stage of Myelodysplastic syndrome. It could potentially progress to leukemia. Transfusions and medications help manage symptoms. Medications or bone marrow transplants may lessen transfusion needs, slow, or prevent progression to leukemia.
I am no longer able to work a full-time job, just walking in general can be exhausting. Sometime soon, a friend of mine will be starting a GoFundMe to hopefully help me make it through this unclear future. However, at this time,until that is up and running, I am in dire need of financial stability.
