Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of Ron Fletcher, born May 29, 1921. A true disciple of the Pilates method, Ron’s influence continues to shape how we move, teach, and experience the work today.

Following a dance-related knee injury, Ron began studying with Joseph Pilates in 1948, later becoming one of the first to bring Body Contrology to the West Coast when he opened the first Pilates studio in California in 1973.

Rooted deeply in the source, Ron honored the integrity of the method while allowing it to evolve through his own artistry, experience, and understanding of movement — evolved from the source.

Through breath, rhythm, precision, and expression, his legacy continues to live on through every Fletcher teacher, student, and studio around the world. ✨
