Winter has returned to Tahoe, but the timing is unfortunate. Both Palisades Tahoe and Kirkwood are reporting 3.5 foot storm totals out of this last system. The honest truth is that much of our favorite mountain is looking about as good as it ever did over the last ski season. Recapping The '25/'26 Alpine Meadows Season Yes, I already covered some of this the other day. It was the shortest season in Alpine Meadows history. I just walked down the breezeway steps for the last time this season. Today was the last day for the public to ski at Alpine Meadows. Tomorrow, they will be open for employees to celebrate the end of the season. It was a beautiful sunny day with temperatures more like May than March. This Will Be Alpine Meadows Shortest Season Ever

The decision to close this Sunday has been finalized, making this the shortest ski season ever at Alpine Meadows. Sunday will be the 93rd day of the season. Extending it a week would have only brought us up to 100 days, which still qualifies as shortest. Several people suggested that the early pandemic closure in 2020 would have been the shortest season, but because of an early opening on November 18 that season, it was not....
