A breakaway classification system built on data, accuracy, and transparency is what will bring the sport of breakaway roping to the next level.

BPI classifications once again prove accuracy. We will continue to publicly audit the classification system to show that BPI classifications are accurate and working.

At the California’s Richest All Girl Breakaway, only approximately 40% of the field was classified as a 4 or higher, yet the top 5 placings all went to ropers classified outside of the 3 and under incentive, and the 6th and final average placing went to the 3 and under incentive champion.

Every metric trended with classification. Catch percentage climbed, average run time dropped, and applied catch percentage climbed with each classification.
